Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kares recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Candy Shull and Joe Kares were married in Sedalia on Sept. 29, 1971, by the Rev. S.K. Mabry Sr.
Mr. Kares was born in Louisville, Kentucky, he retired after more than 42 years from the Department of Defense at Whiteman Air Force Base. Family, friends, and flying are his passions.
Mrs. Kares was born in Sedalia, she is retired from Coca-Cola of Mid-America and is a homemaker. Her family, faith, and a few flowers make her smile.
They have two children, Kevin Kares, of Sedalia, and Ryan (Emily) Kares, of Gardner, Kansas; and five grandchildren.
They continue to live, love, and be loved on their small farm in Sedalia.
