A Pettis County firefighter and a homeowner were injured in a fire on Southwood Lane at Southwood Circle in southeast Pettis County Saturday afternoon.
Emergency crews responded to the fire after a controlled burn lit a plastic culvert on fire and caused the roadway to collapse.
The homeowner was transported to a hospital in Columbia in unreported condition. The firefighter was treated on scene and later sought care at a hospital, Pettis County fire reported. The roadway was temporarily filled in with dirt.
