Posted

Pettis County added 59 confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Monday, bringing the total number of cases to 2,719, according to the Pettis County Health Center. The numbers include data from Nov. 14-16.

This is in comparison to 2,424 cases on Nov. 9 and 1,984 reported on Nov. 2. This is an increase of 295 cases in the past week and 735 cases in the past two weeks, according to information in the Pettis County COVID-19 Task Force briefing issued Monday.

“Due to the large number of cases the Health Center has received, we are no longer able to call all positive cases within several days of receiving the notification,” information from the Health Center in the briefing stated. “We also are not receiving information from testing sites outside of the county, including CVS, in a timely manner. Therefore, anyone who receives a positive test result from the place where they are tested are to remain in isolation for 10 days from the test.”

Isolation means no close contact with anyone in your household including sleeping arrangements. If individuals cannot remain separate, then everyone must wear a mask within the 10-day period of isolation.

Individuals who have not been contacted by the health center after 10 days are asked to call for test results. Additional instructions on how to receive information for employers/school is available at www.pettiscountyhealthcenter.com.

There are now 933 active cases and 1,758 residents have been released to normal activity. Seventeen residents are hospitalized seeking treatment for the COVID-19 virus.

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services reported a seven-day total of 25,551  cases on Monday or an average of 3,650 per day. There were a total of 52 deaths attributed to COVID-19 in Missouri during the last seven days, representing an average of seven deaths per day.

There will be free COVID community testing sponsored by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services in conjunction with the Missouri National Guard at the Sheep Pavilion on the Missouri State Fairgrounds from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20.
