Pettis County surpasses 50 COVID deaths

Pettis County added 80 confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, bringing the total number of cases to 3,982, according to the Pettis County Health Center.

There are now 551 active cases and 3,380 residents have been released to normal activity. Ten residents are now hospitalized seeking treatment for the virus. The Health Center also reported two additional COVID deaths, bringing the county’s total to 51.

The Health Center will be closed Dec. 24-28 for the Christmas holiday. Local COVID reports will not be available during that time.

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services reported a seven-day total of 17,778 cases on Tuesday or an average of 2,540 per day. There were a total of 67 deaths attributed to COVID-19 in Missouri during the last seven days, representing an average of 10 deaths per day.
