This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Jan. 1

6 a.m.: Rafael Trujillo Garduno, 27, of the 900 block of East 13th Street, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to a disturbance in the 700 block of East Seventh Street. Garduno had struck a fence with his vehicle and was caught in it. He was intoxicated and was transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked, and released with a charge of driving while intoxicated. 

3:58 p.m.: Jennifer L. Carter, 43, of the 1400 block of South Washington Avenue, was arrested after officers conducted a vehicle stop near West Broadway Boulevard and South Quincy Avenue. Carter was arrested for driving while intoxicated, transported to the Pettis County Jail, and placed on a 12-hour protective custody hold.

Jan. 5

12:04 a.m.: Antonio Blas Chavez, 24, of the 200 block of West Cooper Street, was issued a citation after an officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for improper registration near West Fifth Street and South Grand Avenue.

Incidents

Dec. 29

7:08 p.m.: Detectives with the Crime Resolution Unit stopped a dirt bike near the intersection of Boonville Street and Emmett Avenue after observing it commit multiple moving violations. The driver's Missouri driving privileges had been suspended and he was released pending the filing of formal charges. 

Jan. 1

4:42 a.m.: Officers responded to a business in the 4000 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to an assault. The caller stated they were assaulted by someone known to them. The suspect has been identified, but no contact has been made. Charges of first-degree burglary, fourth-degree assault, and fourth-degree domestic assault will be sent to the prosecutor for review. 

Jan. 4

7:05 a.m.: An officer responded to the 300 block of East Chestnut Avenue to investigate a report of property damage. The victim had four tires slashed in front of his residence overnight, valued at $750. There are suspects. 

9:38 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 2900 block of Keith Allen Drive in reference to a property damage report. The victim said someone flattened two of her tires.
