This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.
12:54 p.m.: An officer responded to the 1800 block of West Third Street to investigate a reported peace disturbance. A verbal altercation had occurred and charges are being requested against a suspect for public peace disturbance.
3:58 p.m.: An officer responded to the 900 block of South Harrison Avenue to investigate theft of an ATV. The victim stated someone took a 125cc ATV from his garage valued at $1,200.
2:15 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of South Vermont Avenue for a call regarding destroyed property. They gathered information to generate a report.
7:53 a.m.: An officer responded to the 1300 block of West 16th Street to investigate reported damage to a vehicle. The driver's side mirror was broken off of the caller's vehicle. It is unknown what caused the damage and there are no suspects.
11:56 a.m.: Officers responded to the 1800 block of South Warren Avenue for a welfare check. They recovered a stolen vehicle which was towed and the owner was notified.
3:17 p.m.: Emergency crews were dispatched to West Broadway Boulevard and Industrial Road in reference to a pedestrian accident. Two juveniles were attempting to cross Broadway Boulevard east of Industrial Road from south to north pushing their bicycles. While waiting in the center lane, traffic slowed and stopped for them and they attempted to cross the westbound lanes but were struck by a Nissan passenger car in the outside westbound lane. The 14-year-old juvenile sustained serious injuries and was transported to University Hospital in Columbia by Pettis County Ambulance District. The 13-year-old did not complain of injury. The crash remains under investigation by the Sedalia Police Traffic Unit and any witnesses are encouraged to contact them at 660-826-8100.
9:59 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 3400 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a disturbance with weapons assault that had occurred. They gathered the necessary information to generate a report and submit a formal charge to the prosecutor's office.
12:20 a.m.: An officer responded to the 900 block of West 10th Street to investigate the report of a domestic assault, property damage, and stealing. The victim reported the suspect assaulted her, damaged her property, then stole her debit card. State charges of domestic assault, property damage, and stealing are being submitted against the suspect.
11:21 p.m.: Jennifer R. Highland, 49, was arrested after deputies responded to the 1100 block of McVey Road in reference to a domestic disturbance in progress. Highland was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of third-degree domestic assault.
5:26 p.m.: Travis M. Cant, 34, of Warrensburg, was arrested in Johnson County for felony driving with a revoked license and speeding. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.
