Warsaw woman, man injured in Benton accident

Ernest F. Tempfel, 80, and Karen S. Tempfel, 77, both of Warsaw, received minor injuries in an accident at 1:50 p.m. Monday in Benton County. 

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Ernest Tempfel was driving a 2011 Honda Odyssey west on Summit Drive east of Texas Lane when it traveled off the left side of the road and struck a culvert. 

Ernest Tempfel was wearing a seat belt, but it is unknown if Karen Tempfel was wearing one. Both were transported to Golden Valley Hospital in Clinton by Warsaw-Lincoln Ambulance District.

Hannibal man injured in Saline accident 

Floyd H. Smith, 68, of Hannibal, was moderately injured in an accident at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday in Saline County. 

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Smith was driving west on I-70 at mile marker 66 when his vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway, striking the cable barrier. 

Smith was wearing a safety device and was transported to Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall by Sweet Springs Ambulance District.
