This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Sedalia Police Department

April 23

9:32 p.m.: Tristan W. Dawson, 29, of the 3000 block of Bothwell Road, was arrested after officers responded to a business in the 3500 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a warrant check. A male subject was located with an active parole violation warrant and was arrested. A search incident to arrest revealed Dawson was in possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and booked for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

April 24

12:26 a.m.: Tina M. Haney, 44, was arrested for driving while intoxicated after a traffic stop at West Fourth Street and South Osage Avenue. An officer detected the odor of intoxicants and transported Haney to the SPD where a breath sample showed her blood alcohol content was above .08. She was released to a sober person.

April 25  

9:30 a.m.: Cecil Glen Keller, 28, of Slater, was arrested after an officer responded to a residence regarding a domestic disturbance. Keller was transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked and released.

Incidents

April 23

2:28 p.m.: Patricia A. Schrock, 57, of Cole Camp, was issued a summons near West Broadway Boulevard and South Limit Avenue for suspicion of driving while intoxicated for having an open container of alcohol in her car.

4:34 p.m.: An officer responded to the 1000 block of Thompson Boulevard for a report of an assault that had just taken place. The victim reported being assaulted by a juvenile and having their property damaged. A referral was made for the juvenile to the Pettis County Juvenile Office.

April 24

11 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of West 20th Street in reference to a medical call. The caller said her husband accidentally shot himself. He was transported by Pettis County Ambulance District to University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.

Arrests

April 24

12:52 a.m.: William Sindelar, of the 27000 block of Schenk Road, was arrested after deputies were dispatched in reference to a 911 hang-up and possible physical domestic assault. Once deputies arrived, information was obtained that a male subject had physically assaulted a female subject at the residence. Deputies arrested Sindelar and transported him to the Pettis County Jail and placed him on a 24-hour hold for second-degree domestic assault. 

April 25

11:16 p.m.: Thomas Murphy, of the 3500 block of South Grand Avenue, was arrested after deputies were dispatched for a domestic assault in progress. Murphy was taken to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending formal charges.

Incidents

April 23

8 a.m.: It was reported to deputies that on April 16 a 2019 Ford Ranger was damaged while it was parked in the 3200 block of West 16th Street. There are no known suspects at this time.

Arrests

April 24

9:07 a.m.: Matthew J. Harrison, 41, of Hazelwood, was arrested in Saline County for driving while intoxicated. He was transported to the Saline County Jail and released.

5:19 p.m.: Sheldon A. Payne, 22, of California, Missouri, was arrested in Saline County for felony resisting arrest and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child. He was transported to the Saline County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.

11:53 p.m.: A 17-year-old male was arrested in Moniteau County for minor in possession and person under 21 possessing a reproduced false driver’s license. He was released with a summons.

April 25

5:06 a.m.: Jimmy R. Sanders, 24, of Linn Creek, was arrested in Morgan County for driving while intoxicated (prior offender), no insurance, and no seat belt. He was transported to the Morgan County Jail and placed on a 12-hour hold.

10:22 p.m.: Justin T. Steinman, 24, of Kansas City, Missouri, was arrested in Morgan County for driving while intoxicated and failure to drive on the right side of the roadway. He was released for medical treatment.
