This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Sedalia Police Department

Arrests

April 25 

4:12 a.m.: Jaime Guzman, 46, of the 600 block of East Broadway Boulevard, was arrested after an officer responded regarding a crash involving driving while intoxicated. Guzman was arrested at the scene and taken to the Pettis County Jail. He was booked and released to a sober person. 

April 27

10:43 p.m.: Lourdes Rubio Herrera, 31, of the 1000 block of South Ohio Avenue, was arrested after an officer took a report from a female in the State of California in reference to her identity being stolen and used in Sedalia. The victim said the unknown suspect has been working under her identity at various businesses, and that she's also attempted to file taxes under her identity. Detectives later determined the suspect had been using the victim's identity for at least nine years. Herrera was arrested for third-degree identity theft and three counts of forgery. 

April 28

9:10 a.m.: Travis Freeman, 38, of the 400 block of North Grand Avenue, was arrested after a traffic stop in the area of East Broadway Boulevard and South Wagner Avenue for no license plates. Freeman admitted to driving without a license and was issued a citation. 

2:50 p.m.: Sarah D. Mcateer, 30, of the 600 block of West 16th Street, was arrested after a traffic stop near the intersection of East 17th Street and South Ohio Avenue. Mcateer was found to be driving with a revoked license and was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail. She was booked and released.

Incidents

April 19

9:17 a.m.: The Sedalia Police Department became aware that an inmate at the Pettis County Jail was violating a court order in attempting to tamper with a victim in a felony prosecution. The investigation was conducted and charges are being requested. 

April 25 

9:51 a.m.: Officers made contact with employees at a business in the 1500 block of Thompson Boulevard in reference to a fake bill that they received from a customer. The bill was used to pay for merchandise on April 23.

April 28

7:49 a.m.: Officers responded to the 900 block of West 16th Street regarding a child investigation. The children were returned to their parent without incident or injury.

10:45 a.m.: An officer met with a victim in the SPD lobby in reference to an assault. The victim stated she was physically abused while being treated at a local medical facility.

Arrests 

April 28

6:10 p.m.: Summer J. Teeter was arrested after Pettis County deputies responded to the 24000 block of Smasal Road in reference to a reported disturbance. Teeter had a failure to appear warrant out of Pettis County and was placed into custody and later transported to the Pettis County Jail with no bond. 

Incidents

April 29

5:00 a.m.: Deputies took a report of a stolen 2000 Chevy Cavalier from a business in the 24000 block of Oak Grove Lane in Sedalia. The vehicle was later recovered in California, Missouri, and one suspect was taken into custody.

April 28

11:36 a.m.: Gary L. Barnett, 45, of Boonville, was arrested in Pettis County for felony driving with a revoked license and careless and imprudent driving. He was processed and released.
