This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.
1:23 p.m.: Roel Gonzalez, 21, of the 500 block of East Chestnut Street, was arrested after officers performed a traffic stop on a vehicle with expired registration near East Broadway Boulevard and South Center Avenue. Gonzalez was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked for two counts of failure to appear and driving with a suspended license.
10:58 p.m.: Officers took a report regarding an animal bite in the 900 block of West 11th Street. A report was completed and forwarded to animal control for follow-up.
10:07 p.m.: Deputies attempted a traffic stop on a Ford Mustang traveling east on U.S. Highway 50 at a high rate of speed. They turned south on Marshall Avenue and attempted to elude deputies at speeds in excess of 100 miles an hour. The Mustang eventually left the roadway at Marshall and McVey Road and became disabled. The driver and passenger were detained but later released. The driver, due to being a juvenile, and the passenger were released without charges. A juvenile referral was completed and forwarded to the Pettis County Juvenile Office for resisting arrest, creating substantial risk to the public and driving with a suspended driver's license. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
7:27 p.m.: Edward L. Wilson, 43, of Columbia, was arrested in Saline County for possession of a controlled substance. He was transported to the Saline County Jail and released.
