This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Aug. 22

1:27 a.m.: Stewart Allen Dennis, 41, of the 1000 block of West 10th Street, was arrested in the 3500 block of Snyder Road for driving while intoxicate and driving with a suspended license. An officer conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle driving in both southbound lanes of South Limit Avenue. The officer made contact with the driver and detected the odor of intoxicants on the driver’s breath. During the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated and had a suspended license. He was taken to the SPD where he refused to give a breath sample so a search warrant was obtained and he was taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center for a blood draw. The driver was then taken to the Pettis County Jail.

Aug. 23

6:19 a.m.: Edward D. Miller, 58, of Sedalia, was arrested in the 1700 block of South Osage Avenue for possession of a controlled substance. Officers were dispatched to a possible burglary. During the investigation, a methamphetamine pipe with residue was located. The subject was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail where he was placed on a 24-hour hold pending the filing of state charges.

Aug. 23

11:11 a.m.: An officer responded to a business in the 600 block of East 14th Street regarding a theft that occurred between Aug. 19 and the time of the call. The value of the stolen items was $1,000.

1:15 p.m.: Lori L. Hadley, 49, of Sedalia, was issued a municipal court summons near the intersection of East 17th Street and South Marvin Avenue for pedestrian walking along roadway. An officer responded to the intersection for a report of a subject walking in the road, approaching vehicles and walking through yards. The subject was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail but released with a summons without being booked.

2:39 p.m.: An officer took a report in the SPD lobby regarding theft from a vehicle that may have occurred at several locations in Sedalia city limits. The value of the property is $350.

Incidents

Aug.23

9:42 p.m.: Deputies were dispatched to the 25000 block of Tanglenook Run in Sedalia for a drowning. After all life-saving measures were attempted, the male victim was pronounced deceased by Pettis County Coroner Robert Smith.

Arrests

Aug. 20

3:47 p.m.: Adam M. Moore, 37, of Cole Camp, was arrested in Pettis County for felony warrant probation and parole, felony warrant Pettis County, felony possession of controlled substance, felony resisting arrest, felony unlawful use of a weapon, failure to display registration, and no insurance. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.

10:50 p.m.: Drake L. Ealey, 21, of Independence, was arrested in Pettis County for driving while intoxicated and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway. He was transported to the Pettis County jail and released.

Aug. 21

12:01 a.m.: Jeffrey L. Morris, 54, of Sedalia, was arrested in Pettis County for driving while intoxicated, no headlights, and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and released.

11:43 p.m.: Cody A. Warden, 29, of Mora, was arrested in Pettis County for driving while intoxicated and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and released. 

Aug. 22

12:21 a.m.: Mary G. Fields, 57, of Stover, was arrested in Pettis County for driving while intoxicated. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail and released.

1:17 a.m.: Alexa M. Rizzo, 19, of Sedalia, was arrested in Pettis County for driving while intoxicated, speeding, and failure to stop at a stoplight. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail and released. 

8:48 p.m.: Jose L. Coronado, 36, of Marshall, was arrested in Pettis County for driving while intoxicated. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and released.
