This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

6:01 p.m.: An officer went to the 1800 block of Appletree Lane and dispatched an apparently sick raccoon with his duty pistol.
8:42 p.m.: A dog bite was reported at the Bothwell Regional Health Center emergency room. The dog bite occurred on the 500 block of East Harvey Road. Information was collected from the victim who sustained several puncture wounds.
8:46 p.m.: An officer responded to the 1800 block of East Seventh Street for a report of found property. The caller reported two debit cards, a cell phone, syringes, and two writing tools were found in her family's car. The items were collected and placed into evidence. 
9:49 p.m.: An officer conducted a traffic stop at West Broadway Boulevard and South Warren Avenue for no license plate light. A search of the vehicle was conducted and a small amount of marijuana was seized for destruction. No charges are being sought.
Pettis County Sheriff's Office

August 2
2:09 p.m.: Pettis County Sheriff's Office received a report that someone shot a metal barn overhead door in the 11000 block of state Route J in Nelson in Pettis County. The investigation continues.

8:03 p.m.: David K. Larson, 57, of Blue Springs, was arrested in Morgan County for driving while intoxicated/alcohol, no insurance, speeding, and consumption of an alcoholic beverage while driving. He was transported to the Morgan County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.
