This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Aug. 3

1:39 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to a business in the 3100 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a reported shooting. The officers were quickly and safely able to detain Ramone G. Tucker, 34, of Montgomery, Alabama, who was armed with a firearm. After a detailed investigation, it was determined the suspect was upset about a bicycle. He then confronted subjects in the parking lot and the suspect then shot the firearm in the direction of the vehicles. No one was injured in the shooting, nor was any property damage located. The suspect was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center for a fit for confinement assessment before being transported to the Pettis County Jail. He was placed on a 24-hour hold pending formal charges.

July 5

1:34 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the SPD lobby in reference to a theft report. The complainant said her late parents had items stolen from a locked shed on their property. The items were believed to be stolen between June 6 to June 16. Two suspects have been identified and charges have been submitted to the state prosecutor’s office.  

Aug. 1

Noon: The Sedalia Police Department responded to a business in the 4200 block of East Broadway Boulevard for a theft report. On arrival, the officer spoke with Asset Protection, who stated an employee had been stealing money from the register after fraudulent transactions. At the time of the report, a suspect is known and the incident is under investigation.

1:38 p.m.: An officer responded to the 1200 block of Liberty Park Avenue for a hit-and-run accident. On arrival, they spoke with the victim, who stated his truck was damaged overnight. A suspect is not known at the time of the report.

9:30 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to a business in the 1600 block of East Broadway Boulevard in reference to a theft. The complainant reported that a male entered the store and took two six-packs of Corona bottles valued at $20. The male fled the store on foot after being confronted by employees.

9:50 p.m.: An officer arrived at a business in the 1600 block of East Broadway Boulevard to take an unrelated theft report. The officer was informed that a male left the store after concealing items after the officer entered the store. The suspect ran north of New York Avenue and was not located.

10:28 p.m.: Officers responded to Katy Park in reference to a theft. Officers made contact with a juvenile that stated two juveniles stole his scooter. The scooter has not been recovered at this time.  

Aug. 2

8:17 a.m.: An officer responded to the 800 block of East Fourth Street for a harassment report. On arrival, the officer spoke with the victim by phone. The suspect is known and a juvenile referral has been completed.

Aug. 1

3:50 p.m.: Deputies took a report of a theft from the 2000 block of Twin Pines in Sedalia.

Aug. 2

12:54 p.m.: Deputies took a report of a theft from 27000 Highway M in Pettis County.
