This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Nov. 25

3:19 p.m.: Kimberly R. Porter, 36, of the 1900 block of South Prospect Avenue, was arrested after a vehicle stop in the 1800 block of South Prospect Avenue for a registration violation. A computer check revealed Porter’s driver's license was revoked. She was arrested, transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked, and released.

Nov. 29

7:42 a.m.: James J. Ritchie, 45, of Stover, was arrested after a traffic stop for improper registration near North Ohio Avenue and West Broadway Boulevard. A check showed the driver's license status was revoked. He was arrested, transported to the police department, and released with a City ticket for driving with a revoked driver's license. 

Nov. 30

9:13 p.m.: Eric J. Thomas, 20, of the 1300 block of South Kentucky Avenue, was arrested after a vehicle stop at West 16th Street and South Missouri Avenue. Thomas had a revoked driver's license and was arrested, fingerprinted, and issued a municipal citation.

Incidents 

Nov. 16

8 a.m.: The Marshall Police Department contacted the Sedalia Police Department in reference to a case of fraudulent use of a credit card that occurred within the City of Sedalia. The victim's credit card was stolen in Marshall and was used fraudulently in Sedalia. The suspect has been identified and charges are being requested. 

Nov. 24

12:12 p.m.: A complainant from the 1400 block of West Broadway Boulevard reported the checks have been gone on a deceased relative's checking account. There are no suspects at this time.

Nov. 27

11:51 a.m.: A victim came to the police department to make a theft report. She stated someone had used her bank card to make multiple withdrawals at the ATM at East 16th Street from Nov. 1 to Nov. 22. The victim stated that she did not authorize these transactions.

Nov. 29

10:36 a.m.: Officers responded to the 800 block of West 16th Street for a motor vehicle accident. The complainant reported a vehicle from a neighboring business caused damage to his building.

12:12 p.m.: Officers responded to a business in the 1600 block of East Broadway Boulevard for a suspicious person. One of the subjects had a juvenile pick-up order and was transported to the Pettis County Juvenile Office to await State custody. 

2:05 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the Pettis County Children's Division in the 900 block of West Sixth Street in reference to an assistant agency report. Contact was made with individuals and the incident was documented.

4:32 p.m.: Officers responded to a business in the 3300 block of South Limit Avenue for a report of a stolen vehicle. The caller reported that an unknown suspect stole a vehicle from the parking lot.

3 p.m.: A victim in the 2400 block of Highway HH reported the license plate to her utility trailer was either lost or stolen.
