This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Dec. 9

12:30 a.m.: Carter S.H. Freeman, 21, of the 800 block of Crescent Drive, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to West Broadway Boulevard and Crescent Drive to assist with a traffic stop. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the subject was intoxicated and he was transported to the police department. Freeman was issued a ticket for driving while intoxicated and released. 

Dec. 12

6:42 p.m.: Candice Ann Wagenknecht, 40, of the 1700 block of South Quincy Avenue, was arrested after an officer was dispatched in reference to a disturbance. The victim said Wagenknecht assaulted him. When she returned to the residence, she assaulted officers while resisting arrest. She was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center for a fit of confinement, where she dropped a bag of methamphetamine she was concealing. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of third-degree domestic assault on a special victim, resisting arrest, third-degree assault, and drug possession.

Dec. 13

Midnight: Shannon Renee Spruell, 40, of the 200 block of West Sixth Street, was arrested after officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of West Sixth Street and South Osage Avenue for a defective license plate light. Spruell was found to be operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. Spruell was transported to the Pettis County Jail and booked for driving with a revoked driver's license.

9:19 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 3900 block of Artisan Drive in reference to a burglary report. A suspect broke into the home overnight Monday.

11:25 p.m.: Deputies attempted a traffic stop in the area of South Limit Avenue and 32nd Street on a vehicle with no license plates. The vehicle traveled at a high rate of speed south on Highway B with deputies in pursuit. The suspects turned south on Highway E, again reaching excessive speeds, before turning east on Highway 52. Deputies terminated the pursuit due to safety concerns. 

1:02 p.m.: A victim in the 4200 block of Main Street reported to the Pettis County Sheriff's Office someone took his license plates sometime last week.

4:05 p.m.: Deputies took a theft report in the 16000 block of Dove Road in Green Ridge. The victim had been scammed out of $500 via Facebook Marketplace.

Dec. 12

4:32 p.m.: Joshua E. McManus, 34, of Green Ridge, was arrested in Pettis County for driving while intoxicated with a person less than 17 years of age in the vehicle, driving with a suspended driver's license, exceeding the posted speed limit, and no seat belt. McManus was transported to the Pettis County Jail and released.
