This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Dec. 22

5:10 p.m.: Patrick L. Heiland, 49, of Lake Ozark, was arrested near the intersection of West Broadway Boulevard and South Limit Avenue for driving with a suspended license. An officer was dispatched to a traffic complaint about an unknown substance in the road, which turned out to be wet corn feed. While working the incident, the officer learned the driver of the truck that lost the feed from its cargo had a suspended license.

Dec. 23

7:18 p.m.: Martavious Thomas, 30, of Sedalia, was arrested in the 700 block of East Broadway Boulevard for shoplifting. An officer was dispatched for a report of shoplifting. The caller provided a suspect description and a direction of travel. The suspect was located and arrested. The merchandise, valued at $175.15, was returned to the business.

Dec. 24

4:24 a.m.: Aaron W. Argenbright, 39, of the 800 block of Ruth Ann Drive, was arrested near the intersection of East 12th Street and South Gorrel Avenue for possession of a controlled substance. A traffic stop was conducted for disobeying a stop sign. During the stop, the passenger was found in possession of a controlled substance.

5:56 a.m.: Alyssa Chantelle Smith, 30, of Jefferson City, was arrested in the 3400 block of East Broadway Boulevard for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Officers were dispatched for a subject passed out in a vehicle. The subject was contacted and found in possession of methamphetamine, syringes and a digital scale.

Dec. 25

8:26 p.m.: Trichton E. Dotson, 22, of the 1100 block of East 10th Street, was arrested near the intersection of East 13th Street and South Summit Avenue for driving with a suspended license. A traffic stop was conducted for speeding.

10:34 p.m.: Trevon M. Gravitt, 25, of Kansas City, Kansas, was arrested near the intersection of West Seventh Street and South Osage Avenue for driving while intoxicated and driving with a suspended license. A traffic stop was conducted for several traffic violations. A computer check of the driver revealed he had a suspended license. He was arrested and taken to SPD where a breath sample was requested due to the intoxication of the driver.

Dec. 26

4:25 a.m.: Elizabeth Esqueda, 33, of the 800 block of East Ninth Street, was arrested near the intersection of East Broadway Boulevard and South Marvin Avenue for driving while intoxicated (drugs) and operating a vehicle without a valid license. A traffic stop was conducted for expired registration.

6:56 p.m.: Mason Dixon Pierce, 21, of Marshall, was arrested near the intersection of East Fourth Street and South Ohio Avenue for driving while intoxicated. A traffic stop was conducted for a vehicle with no lights on.

8:29 p.m.: Terez Dominque Lewis, 31, of Marshall, was arrested near the intersection of West Benton Street and North Missouri Avenue for driving with a suspended license, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and a failure to appear warrant. A traffic stop was conducted after an officer recognized the driver as having a suspended license and a warrant.

9:21 p.m.: Rodney Jermaine Crockett Jr., 32, of the 900 block of Westwood Drive, was arrested near the intersection of West Fifth Street and South Missouri Avenue for driving while intoxicated and driving with a suspended license. A traffic stop was conducted because an officer recognized the driver as having a suspended license and he failed to use a turn signal.

10:46 p.m.: Aric S. Belzer, 28, of the 1300 block of South Harrison Avenue, was arrested at his residence for third-degree domestic assault. An officer responded to the SPD lobby for a report of a domestic assault. The reporting party stated a physical altercation happened between her and a subject known to her, Belzer. She refused treatment from the Pettis County Ambulance District. The subject was later located and arrested.

11:41 p.m.: Jonathon Tyler Williams, 31, of the 1600 block of South Osage Avenue, was arrested near the intersection of West 16th Street and South Osage Avenue for driving while intoxicated.

Dec. 27

8:27 a.m.: Daniel Ortiz, 32, was arrested in the 500 block of South Barrett Avenue for possession of a controlled substance. A traffic stop was conducted for expired registration. During a search, a $10 bill was found tucked between the center console and passenger seat that contained a substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine. The passenger was arrested.

8:05 p.m.: Brandon Matthew Grandfield, 35, of Smithton, was arrested in the 3800 block of East Broadway Boulevard for driving while intoxicated and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. A vehicle was stopped for not having its tail lights activated. After an investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated by drugs and in possession of marijuana.

9:26 p.m.: Alexandr Shalnev, 26, of the 1000 block of South Harrison Avenue, was arrested near the intersection of South Grand Avenue and West 11th Street for driving with a suspended license and two warrants. A traffic stop was conducted for improper registration.

Incidents

Dec. 26

1:48 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the area of Buckner Court for a report of a rape. The matter has been referred to the investigations unit.

Dec. 27

3:55 a.m.: A dumpster and vehicles were reported on fire in the 2500 block of Stacey Lane. The Sedalia Fire Department also responded and extinguished the fire. Three vehicles were found to have damage as a result of the fire. The cause of the fire was unknown at the time of the report.

10:30 a.m.: A firearm was reported stolen from a vehicle overnight in the 1500 block of South Moniteau Avenue. It is unknown if the vehicle was locked. There were no signs of forced entry.

12:26 p.m.: A complainant reported someone stole three items with a combined value of $425.85 from a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard on Dec. 20. The incident was caught on camera.

Dec. 25

10:49 p.m.: Natasha J. Frazier-Hires, 22, of Sedalia, was arrested in Pettis County for driving while intoxicated.

11:19 p.m.: Travis R. Powell, 37, of Clinton, was arrested in Henry County for driving while intoxicated and speeding.

Dec. 26

10:15 a.m.: Brandy Famuliner, 26, of Independence, and Dalton D. Bentley, 28, of Raytown, were arrested in Benton County for felony possession of a controlled substance, possession of less than 10 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Dec. 27

9:21 a.m.: Roger G. Sicore, 32, of Warsaw, was arrested in Benton County for possession of drug paraphernalia and a felony warrant.

Dec. 28

2:43 p.m.: Jodie R. Cornine, 23, of Hughesville, was arrested in Pettis County for felony possession of a controlled substance.
