This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Dec. 4

4:17 a.m.: Officers responded to the 1600 block of West 14th Street in reference to a vehicle check for a vehicle that had been parked running outside a residence for about an hour. The driver was asleep in the driver’s seat of the car. A search of the person revealed methamphetamine and marijuana. Jeremy S. Futscher, 40, of La Monte, was arrested for misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance.

Dec. 7

8:12 a.m.: Sedalia police responded to the 1200 block of South Kentucky Avenue for a violation of a court order. The subject was also found to have active arrest warrants and a substance believed to be illegal was found on him. Mark A. Mejia, 36, of the 1200 block of South Kentucky Avenue, was arrested for violating a protection order, possession of a controlled substance and the warrants.

9:47 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to a business in the 3800 block of East Broadway Boulevard in reference to a subject check in a vehicle honking and waving their arms. Contact was made with the driver and after an investigation, it was determined the driver was impaired by drugs. Daniyele M. Jones, 38, of California, was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

Dec. 2

9:02 p.m.: An officer responded to the 2500 block of Stacy LAne for a property damage report. The caller stated their vehicle had been keyed causing $2,599.14 in damages. After an investigation, the suspect was identified.

Nov. 23

12:45 a.m.: A deputy responded to the 1400 block of Elm Hills Boulevard in reference to a reported disturbance. The caller stated they could hear two people fighting, screaming and breaking things. Jillian K. Walker was arrested for third-degree domestic assault and resisting arrest.

Dec. 8

1:15 a.m.: A vehicle stop was conducted on U.S. Route 65 near Elm Hills Boulevard for a vehicle failing to maintain the right half of the roadway. Shad Rehms, of Kansas City, was arrested for driving with a revoked license and a warrant.

2:23 a.m.: William J. Strohmeyer, 33, of Warrensburg, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated, driving with a suspended or revoked license and failure to stop at a stop sign.
