This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Feb. 15

7:34 a.m.: Sarita Linda Leon, 61, of the 600 block of South Washington Avenue, was arrested after officers responded to East Broadway Boulevard and South Ohio Avenue in reference to an intoxicated female subject in the middle of the roadway. She continued to walk in the roadway after being instructed not to and was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center for medical reasons. Leon was issued a municipal citation for prohibited obstruction of roadway.

Feb. 15

6:19 a.m.: An officer responded to the 2000 block of East 15th Street to investigate a report of harassment. The victims said the suspect had fled prior to police arrival. Charges of stalking, harassment, and second-degree trespassing have been requested.

8:21 a.m.: An officer met a victim in the police department lobby who informed him earlier in the morning that while at her residence in the 400 block of East Sixth Street, she was assaulted by a man known to her. Photos of her injuries were taken and a written statement was collected from her as well. The suspect also caused damage to the victim's vehicle. Charges of third-degree domestic assault and second-degree property damage have been requested.

8:29 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to a business in the 3500 block of South Limit Avenue for a report of a possible burglary in progress. The caller was able to provide the license plate of the suspect vehicle. Contact was later made with the suspect, who turned over several items, including several cut-up electrical cords they had stolen from the business. Charges of burglary and trespassing are being sought.

11:44 a.m.: Officers took a report of lost property in the lobby of the police department. The reporting party stated she lost a red bank bag containing $207 in cash somewhere on 16th Street.

Feb. 16

9:50 a.m.: An officer responded to a business in the 4900 block of South Limit Avenue in reference to a theft. Management advised someone stole copper wire from the rear of the business overnight. A suspect has not been identified.

11:53 a.m.: An officer responded to a business in the 300 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to abandoned property. Management advised a red bag was found in the parking lot. The bag was recovered and placed into evidence as found property.

12:09 p.m.: Officers took a report in the police department lobby in reference to a theft in the 600 block of Duke Drive. The complaint stated his wallet was stolen the previous day and his debit card was used to withdraw funds from his account. No suspect has been identified.

11:02 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 900 block of South Normandy Drive in reference to a theft. The caller said multiple items, including two TVs and a handgun, were stolen from her storage unit, with a value of approximately $1,400. No arrests have been made.
