This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Feb. 25

2:09 a.m.: Eric D. Miller, 39, of Clinton, was observed at a business in the 600 block of East Broadway Boulevard. Known to have active warrants, Miller was sitting inside of a vehicle with Stewart William Kimbrell, 48, of Sedalia, and Crystal M. Summers, 40, of Marshall. Further investigation revealed all three were all in possession of methamphetamine. They were arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on 24-hour holds. 

7:13 p.m.: Lori Anne Roberts, 41, of Sedalia, was arrested after a truck was stopped at West Broadway Boulevard and Thompson Boulevard with no license plate lights. A check revealed she was driving with a suspended license. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Sedalia Police Department. She was released with a municipal summons for driving with a suspended license.

Feb. 26

1:30 a.m.: Samantha Rae Pierce, 39, of Sedalia, was arrested after her car was stopped in the area of East 13th Street and South Marvin Avenue for moving violations. After an investigation, it was determined she was impaired by drugs and was placed under arrest. Pierce was found in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia and was transported to a hospital and then the Pettis County Jail. Pierce was placed on a 24-hour hold for state charges of driving while intoxicated, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

4:02 a.m.: Jonathan Michael Roste, 32, of Independence, was arrested after officers responded to the 200 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a theft report. Officers determined a theft had occurred and Roste was taken into custody and transported to the Pettis County Jail. He was booked on felony stealing and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges.

Incidents

Feb. 24

3:20 p.m.: An officer took a report in the lobby of the Sedalia Police Department regarding a theft report from Walmart. An Asset Protection representative from Walmart reported that on Feb. 19 a subject left the self-checkout area without paying for her merchandise. The total theft was valued at $246.87. A suspect has not been located at the time of this report.

Feb. 25

2:25 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 600 block of East 15th Street regarding a disturbance. Two subjects at their residence, one of whom was a minor, got into a physical fight. The Pettis County Juvenile Office was contacted, and a call was placed to the Children's Division.

10:48 p.m.: Officers initiated a traffic stop on a car near East Broadway Boulevard and South Hancock Avenue that had no front plate and a plate that came back to a truck. Officers made contact with the driver and the odor of marijuana was detected. The vehicle was searched, and two marijuana pipes were found. The pipes were seized, and the driver was released from the scene with verbal warnings for the violations.
