This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Feb. 21

3:29 p.m.: Laynee J. Baldridge, 21, of the 700 block of West Broadway Boulevard, was arrested after officers were dispatched to a business in the 3600 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a domestic disturbance. Two female employees, who are known to each other, were involved in a physical altercation. After they were separated, the older employee walked outside and began to leave, but the younger employee threw glass bottles at her, chased her down and began hitting her in the head with a closed fist. Both sustained injuries. The younger employee was arrested for second-degree domestic assault and transported to the Pettis County Jail for a 24-hour hold.

11:08 p.m.: Jason Ryan Mucke, 40, of the 22000 block of Depot Road, was arrested after officers were dispatched to a business in the 1600 block of East Broadway Boulevard in reference to an individual sleeping in his vehicle. Mucke was intoxicated and was transported to the police department and then the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released for driving while intoxicated - persistent offender.

Feb. 24

9:18 a.m.: Michael Lee Waddle, 19, of the 400 block of Buckner Court, was arrested after officers arrived to investigate a suspicious vehicle that was illegally parked in a handicapped spot. The occupant was in possession of drug paraphernalia and was transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked, and released pending charges of possession of paraphernalia with intent to sell/manufacture.

Feb. 25

1:04 a.m.: Colin Thomas Bressie, 33, of Eldon, was arrested after a vehicle stop in a business parking lot in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard. The investigation resulted in the driver being arrested for driving with a revoked driver's license. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and released.

Feb. 26

7:37 a.m.: Jose F. Garcia Sotelo, 22, of the 1100 block of South Limit Avenue, was arrested after officers were dispatched to a burglary in progress. The resident discovered an unknown male sleeping in a chair at his home and called another family member who also lived in the home and was at work. This other family member returned home and held the subject at gunpoint until law enforcement arrived. With the help of an interpreter, it was discovered that the male lives a few houses away and, while intoxicated, mistakenly entered the home and fell asleep. He was arrested for first-degree trespass and transported to Pettis County Jail to be booked and released.

5:42 p.m.: Gabrielle A. LaClaire, 41, of Sedalia, was arrested after officers responded to Bothwell Regional Health Center for the report of an assault. LaClaire had assaulted an ER nurse and was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of fourth-degree assault and first-degree disturbance of the peace.

Incidents

Feb. 21

2:53 p.m.: Officers responded to a business in the 4400 block of Wisconsin Avenue in reference to a theft. The complainant stated two males and a female came into the store and stole items. One of the males was previously trespassed from the property, has been identified, and state charges are being requested.

5:22 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 1800 block of South Ingram Avenue for a report of harassment. The caller stated she had an employee being harassed over text messages. The victim was contacted and stated a subject was telling him he should harm himself.

Feb. 24

9:23 a.m.: An officer went to a home in the 600 block of East 16th Street on a medical call and discovered the call was a result of a domestic assault that had just occurred. A charge of third-degree domestic assault is being sought.

11:28 a.m.: An officer met a victim in the police department lobby who stated someone known to her recently made a false child abuse hotline report. She believed this was done in retaliation for something else. No contact has been made with the suspect.

12:46 a.m.: Officers responded to a business in the 3100 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a tracker found on a vehicle. The complainant stated she found a tracker underneath her vehicle and does not know how it got there. The tracker was turned off and entered into evidence. At this time, it is unknown to whom it belongs.

11:13 p.m.: Officers took a report of a burglary in the 700 block of Wilkerson Street. The reporting party stated he had been staying with his girlfriend and came home to find his back door kicked in and his Magic the Gathering cards missing. He found his cards at a local business and the record of the sale and camera footage showed a female who bought the cards and sold them for $170.

Feb. 25

7:13 a.m.: Officers responded to the 800 block of West Fifth Street in reference to a sexual assault. Officers made contact with the victim, who said she was sexually assaulted while sleeping. The victim went to Bothwell Regional Health Center for further examination. A suspect has not been identified at this time.

10:11 a.m.: An officer responded to a business in the 600 block of North Ohio Avenue to investigate a reported theft. The complainant said the suspect had left prior to the officer’s arrival. The suspect had reportedly walked out of the business without paying for $147 in merchandise. They have not been identified at this time.

Feb. 26

10:17 a.m.: An officer responded to the 400 block of South Quincy Avenue in reference to a burglary. The complainant stated she returned home and found her back door broken open. No suspects have been identified.

6:50 p.m.: Officers responded to the 900 block of West Third Street for a report of a burglary and theft. The victim said someone broke into their house and stole copper wiring.

Arrests

Feb. 26

12:38 a.m.: Samuel Bartlett, 39, of Sedalia, was arrested after a traffic stop near 20th Street and Prospect Avenue for improper and expired registration. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked, and released for driving with a revoked driver's license - second offense.

Incidents

Feb. 24

8 a.m.: Deputies took a crash report on Meyers Bridge Road in Green Ridge regarding a vehicle that slid off the roadway into a ditch and struck an embankment. The driver was uninjured and was able to leave the scene in the vehicle once it was pulled from the ditch.

10:41 a.m.: Deputies took a fraud report in the 200 block of Front Street in La Monte. The victim had one of their checks fraudulently written to an unknown individual.

Feb. 25

11:30 a.m.: Deputies took a single-vehicle crash report on U.S. Highway 50 west of Route T in Pettis County. Neither occupant was injured.

Arrests

Feb. 24

8:15 p.m.: Michael R. Butler, 29, of Sedalia, was arrested in Pettis County for felony possession of a controlled substance and felony possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail.

8:15 p.m.: Ryan C. Campbell, 26, of Sedalia, was arrested in Pettis County for felony possession of a controlled substance. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and released.

11:17 p.m.: Lekesha N. Fails, 43, of Kansas City, was arrested in Saline County for driving while intoxicated with a person less than 17 in the vehicle, driving with a suspended license, failure to drive on the right half of the roadway, no proof of insurance, and failure to secure a child in a restraint. She was transported to the Saline County Jail and released.

Feb. 25

5:35 p.m.: Jordan E. Aldrich, 29, of Sedalia, was arrested in Moniteau County for driving with a suspended license, a misdemeanor warrant out of Saline County, and a misdemeanor warrant out of Johnson County. She was transported to the Moniteau County Jail.
