Aug. 29

10:09 a.m.: Jessica Lauren Smith, 39, of the 700 block of East Fifth Street issued a summons after a call came in from the 600 block of East Fifth Street regarding a previous theft incident. Upon arrival information was gathered for a report and after investigation it was determined a theft did not occur due to it being a civil issue. It was also determined there was a crime of trespassing and charges are pending through the City prosecutor.

Aug. 30

1:43 a.m.: Serghei Boris Ciobanu, 37, of Smithton was arrested after a traffic stop on a vehicle with improper registration near East 16th Street and South Ohio Avenue. The driver had a suspended driving status and was transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a charge of driving while suspended.

Incidents

Aug. 28

7:42 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of South Quincy Avenue for a report regarding a package theft. They gathered information and generated a report for investigation.

1:42 p.m.: While on patrol contact was made with an individual that had been bitten by a dog in the 600 block of North Missouri Avenue. The dog and owner were located and Sedalia Animal Control took custody of the dog. A report was generated for documentation purposes.

Aug. 29

5:52 p.m.: Officers made contact with a male subject and gathered information for a report of an accident at East Third Street and North Engineer Avenue. After an investigation there was not enough evidence to determine an accident occurred.

7:42 p.m.: Loveson Matheus, 24, of Warrensburg was arrested after Pettis County Deputy patrolling near US 50 Hwy, west of Highway TT, spotted a vehicle accelerating through a large group of traffic. The deputy's radar showed the vehicle traveling at 104 mph in a 65 mph zone.

A traffic stop in Whitfield Road and Dorrance Road found Matheus was intoxicated and he was transported to the Pettis County Jail, placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of exceeding the posted speed limit by more than 26 miles per hour, driving while intoxicated, operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner and driving without a valid license.
