12:29 a.m.: Daniel Gonzalez Talavera, 19, of the 2600 block of Bristol Lane was arrested after an officer was dispatched to assist on a traffic stop near West Ninth Street and South Ohio Avenue. It was determined Talavera was intoxicated and he was transported to the Sedalia Police Department then the Pettis County Jail where he was booked and released pending a charge of DWI - prior offender.
8:00 p.m.: Ivan Kushnir, 33, of the 3000 block of Westlake Drive was arrested after an officer was dispatched to Spring Fork Lake regarding an intoxicated driver located by a conservation agent. Kushner was located intoxicated and was transported to the Sedalia Police Department where he provided a breath sample. Kushnir was charged with driving while intoxicated and released to a sober driver.
8:25 a.m.: Santiago Quetzecua Cano, 45, of the 300 block of West Morgan Street. was arrested after officers conducted a vehicle stop near the intersection of East Chestnut Street. and North Emmett Avenue. Cano was operating a motor vehicle without a driver's license and was transported to the Sedalia Police Department, fingerprinted and released with a citation.
7:09 p.m.: Luis Alberto Sotelo Alvarado, 27, of the 400 block of Veterans Memorial Drive was arrested after an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for expired registration near South Moniteau Avenue and West Sixth Street. The driver had a suspended driver's license and was transported to the Sedalia Police Department and issued a uniform traffic ticket.
10:11 p.m.: Dennis Miles, 51, of Columbia was arrested after officers were dispatched to the 3600 block of South Limit Avenue in reference to a subject check. Miles was located sleeping near the highway and was transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was placed on a 12-hour protective custody hold.
11:01 p.m.: Kimberly Sue Ballenger, 44, of the 300 block of Scott Joplin Court was arrested after a traffic stop at East Saline Street and North Hurley Street after running a stop sign. Ballenger was intoxicated and was transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a charge of DWI - drug.
6:36 p.m.: Nicholas Allen Howe, 36, of the 400 block of Buckner Court was arrested after police investigated a man breaking out windows of a home in the 1100 block of South State Fair Boulevard. Howe was determined to have used a crowbar to break into two windows of a nearby residence. The damage is estimated at $1,200. The suspect attempted to open a window using his hand and the property owner desired prosecution. Howe was transported to the Pettis County Jail pending formal charges of second-degree burglary, possession of burglary tools, and first-degree property damage.
7:17 p.m.: Tommy Lee Edwards, 25, of the 1700 block of East Fourth Street was arrested after an officer patrolling near Fourth Street and Emmett Avenue observed the subject riding a four-wheeler. Edwards failed to yield to a stop, accelerated and drove through the front yard of a residence before pulling into a yard in the 700 block of East Fourth Street. He exited the four wheeler and entered a shed behind the residence. The subject was called out and was taken into custody and transported to the police headquarters, fingerprinted and released with citations for operating without a license, ATV on roadway, and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.
9:55 p.m.: Lynn Marie Bentley, 39, of the 2600 block of Goodwill Chapel Road was arrested after officers received a call that a large group of people were getting ready to fight near Fifth Street and Southwest Osage Avenue. Missouri State Highway Patrol and Sedalia police officers were able to investigate and make an arrest during the incident. Bentley was placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon and fourth-degree aggravated assault.
11:11 p.m.: Kevin Scott Morrison, 52, of the 300 block of East Saline Street was arrested after an officer was dispatched and referenced to sexual misconduct. The caller reported their neighbor was staring at her and her sister in law from his front porch while masturbating and exposing himself. Morrison was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of sexual misconduct and harassment.
9:47 a.m.: Officers took a report of fraud/forgery from the 700 block of Katy Circle. The reporting party stated someone with a phone number listed under United Healthcare called her and collected private information.
11:48 a.m.: An officer spoke with a female in the lobby of the police department who reported her car was damaged sometime over the past five months in the 3300 block of West Broadway Boulevard. A report was completed.
6:20 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of East 12th Street for the violation of a court order. They gathered information to generate a report.
4:40 a.m.: An officer responded to the 1400 block of South Ohio Avenue regarding a report of harassment. The suspect was not on scene and a charge of harassment was submitted to the Pettis County prosecutor for review.
10:31 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of East 18th Street in reference to a domestic disturbance. The incident had turned physical and was documented using a 12-hour log.
12:37 p.m.: An officer responded to the police department lobby regarding a case of identity theft. The subject stated they received several emails from loan companies stating loan applications were denied even though the subject never applied. There are no suspects.
5:10 p.m.: A call came in from Menards, 4400 Wisconsin Ave, regarding found property that the business wished to turn over. The property was taken to the police department and logged into the evidence system for safekeeping.
5:47 p.m.: A call came in from the 1500 block of West Fourth Street regarding a harassment situation. Information was gathered for a report.
7:23 p.m.: An officer responded to the 1400 block of South Harrison Avenue for a report of harassment. It was related to an incident that happened earlier in the day in the same county. Charges are being sought for the suspect.
7:42 p.m.: Officers responded to theSedalia Police Department lobby in reference to a found property report. The reporting party located a wallet near the intersection of East Broadway Boulevard and South Ohio Avenue which was collected.
8:45 a.m.: A call came into the police department regarding a hit and run accident the previous day. The information was gathered for a report. The suspect has not been located.
3:38 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to a theft report in the lobby of the police department. The victim left items they just purchased outside T.J Maxx but when they returned to get the items they were taken by another individual.
6:00 p.m.: Officers responded to the 200 block of East 24th Street regarding found property. The reporting party said she located a wallet in her yard. Officers collected it but no contact has been made with the owner at this time.
6:46 p.m.: An officer responded to a physical disturbance at Hubbard Park but was unable to complete the investigation. The subject later came to the police department to complete the report.
9:01 p.m.: An officer was flagged down in the 1400 block of South Carr Avenue in regard to a hit and run accident. No one was injured and the incident was captured on video.
1:51 a.m.: Dennis Miles Jr, of Columbia was arrested after deputies conducted a traffic stop on U.S. 65 Hwy and Honda Road on a vehicle failing to maintain a lane. After investigation Miles was transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked for driving while intoxicated and placed on a protective custody hold.
12:44 a.m.: Brian Milburn of Sedalia was arrested after Pettis County deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near U.S. Hwy 65 and Anderson School Road for no license plates. The driver gave consent search of the vehicle and both occupants were removed. Nothing was located but deputies located a glass pipe commonly used for smoking methamphetamine caked with white crystal substance and a baggie of white crystal substance on Milburn after he consented to a search of his person. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail where the substance tested positive for both Fentanyl and methamphetamine. Milburn was placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of drug trafficking - second degree, possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
5:30 p.m.: Pettis County deputies took a report of a motor vehicle accident in the 24000 block of Flint Street. A UPS package truck backing into a driveway struck a 2020 Buick Enclave. Deputies were able to make contact with the UPS driver who was unaware of the accident. There were no injuries and minor damage to the Enclave.
2:30 p.m.: Pettis County deputies responded to a non-injury motor vehicle crash at East Sixth Street and South Washington Avenue in Sedalia. A 2014 Nissan passenger car operated by Douglas Grandfield of Sedalia was traveling east on East Sixth Street and when he was approximately halfway through the intersection a 1997 Chevrolet pickup operated by Phillip Schafer of Sedalia entered the intersection traveling north and collided with Grandfield’s vehicle. Both vehicles received moderate damage and the Nissan had to be towed.
3:08 a.m.: The Pettis County Sheriff's Office was alerted to a pursuit by the Missouri State Highway Patrol coming out of Lafayette county. The pursuit proceeded into Warrensburg and west on Highway DD out of Warrensburg.
The vehicle came to stop in a field on SW 100, where three occupants exited into a cornfield. Pettis County Sheriff's Office K9 and drone units were positioned at the West County line. and located two suspects hiding in the cornfield. They were both taken into custody. The other suspect was not located. At the time of the press release the identities of the suspects in custody are unknown. Resources from the Pettis County Sheriff's Office, Johnson County Sheriff's Office, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Warrensburg Police Department, University of Central Missouri Public Department of Public Safety, Johnson County ambulance district and Johnson County Fire Protection District were utilized on scene.
8:32 p.m.: Russell L. Hostetter, 47, of Slater was arrested in Saline County for driving while intoxicated and driving with a suspended license. He was transported to the Saline County Jail and released.
1:30 a.m.: Zachariah T. Menne, 33, of Leeton was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated and failure to stop. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.
1:45 p.m.: Lois A. Elwood, 55, of Russellville was arrested in Moniteau county for DWI alcohol, leaving the scene of an accident, assault special victim - law enforcement officer, no insurance, no seat belt, and careless and imprudent driving involving an accident. She was transported to the Moniteau County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.
12:46 a.m.: Nikolas R. of Butters, 27, of Odessa was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated and exceeding the posted speed limit. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.
1:41 p.m.: Ryan C. Kruse, 25, of Windsor was arrested in Pettis County for felony possession of a controlled substance and driving while suspended. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and released.
4:28 p.m.: Kyle R. Davis, 41, of Johnson County of Knob Noster was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated - prior offender, failure to drive on the right half of the roadway and no insurance. He was released for medical treatment.
