This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Jan. 8

7:58 a.m.: Zachary Lee Denny, 26, of Sedalia, was arrested in the 3500 block of West Broadway Boulevard for second-degree domestic assault. An officer responded to a report of a domestic disturbance. The victim had marks consistent with strangulation while the suspect had none.

12:54 p.m.: Charlotte E. Vinson, 39, of the 100 block of Prospect Avenue, was arrested at her residence for third-degree domestic assault and possession of a controlled substance. Officers responded to a disturbance. After further investigation, the suspect was arrested and pills were located in her possession.

10:35 p.m.: Sara Marie Lawson, 39, of Warsaw, was arrested near the intersection of East 13th Street and South Engineer Avenue for driving with a suspended license. A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle whose registered owner had a suspended license.

11:37 p.m.: Lashawn A. Combs, 42, of the 200 block of South Stewart Avenue, was arrested in the 200 block of South Quincy Avenue for first-degree property damage. Officers responded to a report of property damage in progress and made contact with the subject, who had damaged a rental house he was not renting.

Jan. 9

12:58 a.m.: Ashley E. Kimball, 31, of Warsaw, was arrested in the 200 block of West Broadway Boulevard for driving with a revoked/suspended license. A traffic stop was conducted for a driver who failed to maintain her vehicle’s lane.

2:52 a.m.: Rafael Esquivel Martinez, 24, of La Monte, was arrested near the intersection of West Broadway Boulevard and South State Fair Boulevard for driving with a suspended license. A traffic stop was conducted for a driver failing to maintain his vehicle’s lane.

1:05 p.m.: Kandie L. Hunt, 60, of Syracuse, was arrested near the intersection of East Broadway Boulevard and South Center Avenue for driving with a suspended license. A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle with expired plates that did not belong to the vehicle.

2:43 p.m.: Robert Lee Gordon Jr., 36, of the 500 block of East Second Street, was arrested in the 400 block of East Broadway Boulevard for fourth-degree domestic assault. Officers were dispatched to the area between the Katy Depot and the highway overpass for the Katy Trail for a domestic disturbance in progress. The officers made contact with the subjects and a witness who said they saw the suspect strike the victim.

3:03 p.m.: Rodney E. Tyler, 49, of the 1800 block of South Lamine Avenue, was arrested at his residence for third-degree domestic assault. Officers responded to a report of a disturbance. Contact was made with a female victim and a male suspect. The victim stated the suspect assaulted her and she had injury to her face.

10:01 p.m.: Mario Wilson Jr., 18, of the 1500 block of South Osage Avenue, was arrested at his residence for second-degree property damage, fourth-degree domestic assault, resisting arrest and fourth-degree assault. Officers were dispatched to a disturbance. They made contact with the suspect who was destroying multiple items in the home and threatening the other residents. After a brief verbal altercation with officers, the suspect ran out the back door. They were located in a vehicle near West 15th Street and South Moniteau Avenue. After the vehicle stopped, the suspect fought with officers before eventually being restrained.

Jan. 10

1:50 a.m.: Taylor Lane, 19, of the 2600 block of Anderson Avenue, was issued a municipal court summons near the intersection of West 10th Street and South Limit Avenue for minor in possession of alcohol. A traffic stop was conducted after a driver committed several traffic violations. A subject in the vehicle was under 21 and under the influence of alcohol.

Jan. 11

10:09 a.m.: Deyette Maria Bragaw, 51, of the 24000 block of Oak Grove Lane, was arrested

7:03 p.m.: Jose Manuel Gutierrez, 42, of the 700 block of West Cooper Street, was arrested at his residence for third-degree domestic assault. Officers responded to a domestic disturbance. An investigation revealed a male subject assaulted a female subject, causing injuries.

Arrests

Jan. 5

2:36 a.m.: Tandra A. Neighbors was issued a court summons for driving with a suspended license in the 3800 block of East Broadway Boulevard.

Jan. 8

9:49 p.m.: Deputies were at a business in the area of U.S. Route 65 and Plaza Avenue when they saw a subject they knew had a no-bond Pettis County warrant. Deputies made contact with the subject, Charles Shane Spellmeyer, of Green Ridge. During the warrant arrest, deputies found two baggies of a crystal substance. Spellmeyer was arrested for the active warrants and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

Jan. 12

2:14 a.m.: Zachary Denny, of Sedalia, was arrested in the 4800 block of South Limit Avenue for driving with a revoked license. Deputies conducted a traffic stop for a driver who failed to signal. A passenger consented to a search of her property and marijuana, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were found. The passenger, Brittany Hall, of Sedalia, was also arrested.

Incidents

Jan. 9

5:02 p.m.: A deputy responded to the 23000 block of state Route 765 for a theft report. The reporting person said a female subject known to him took approximately 1,000 rounds of 40 caliber ammunition, valued at $800, and 40 rounds of 410 shotgun shells, valued at $20.

Arrests

Jan. 11

2:30 p.m.: Brandon S. Westpheling, 24, of Otterville, was arrested in Pettis County for a felony Audrain County warrant, two misdemeanor Pettis County warrants, a misdemeanor Morgan County warrant, driving with a suspended license, no insurance, and failure to register a vehicle.

8:06 p.m.: Alexander L. Peake, 18, of Raytown, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated.

Jan. 12

10:41 a.m.: Logan A. Lewis, 27, of Otterville, was arrested in Pettis County for a felony Cooper County warrant and possession of 10 grams or less of marijuana.
