This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Jan. 10

11:05 p.m.: John Alexander Zaremba, 57, of the 1600 block of Country Club Boulevard, was arrested after a traffic stop for failing to maintain a lane on South Limit Avenue near West Seventh Street. The driver was intoxicated and was arrested, transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked, and released. 

Jan. 11

12:20 a.m.: Dimitry Sheblanoff, 50, of the 200 block of South Prospect Avenue, was arrested after a traffic stop at South Limit Avenue and West Third Street for failure to maintain a lane. The driver was determined to be driving while intoxicated, was arrested, and released on summons.

12:49 p.m.: Walter Vernon Baker, 51, of the 500 block of West Seventh Street, was arrested after police were dispatched for an assault. The victim had a laceration on the right side of their head and ultimately was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center for their injuries. The suspect was arrested, transported to the Pettis County Jail, and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of third-degree domestic assault.

 2:32 p.m.: Dreyvin Jaquelynn Marcos, 24, of the 500 block of East Fifth Street, was arrested after a traffic stop for no front license plate near East Fourth Street and South Lamine Avenue. The driver had a suspended driver's license and was arrested, transported to the police department, and issued a municipal ticket for driving with a suspended license. 

8:15 p.m.: Colton Miner Ditton, 31, of the 900 block of Moniteau Avenue, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to a business in the 500 block of South Ohio Avenue in reference to a violation of an order of protection. The caller said two men known to her drove by the establishment multiple times after finding her car outside. She made eye contact with both of them and they continued to drive very slowly. The suspect was located, arrested, and placed on a 24-hour hold. A request for a charge of first-degree harassment and violation of an ex parte order was submitted to the prosecutor.

Incidents

Jan. 11

6:27 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to Truman Inn, 3501 W. Broadway Blvd., in reference to a property damage report. The victim said sometime overnight someone shattered the driver's side window of his truck. 

3:49 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to a residence in the 900 block of Westwood Avenue for a burglary report. Suspects broke into an apartment and destroyed items. Suspects have not been contacted.

33 p.m.: An officer spoke with the victim on the phone in reference to a theft. The victim stated that sometime over the previous weekend a license plate was stolen off his vehicle in the 1800 block of South Summit Avenue. The license plate was entered as stolen.
