This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Sedalia Police Department

Arrests

Jan. 13

9:49 a.m.: Steven Wayne Bailey, 38, of the 1900 block of South Sneed Avenue, was arrested near the intersection of East 10th Street and South Emmet Avenue for driving with a suspended license. A traffic stop was conducted when an officer recognized a driver as having a suspended license.

Incidents

Jan. 13

7:30 a.m.: An officer responded to the 1700 block of East Fourth Street for a property damage report. The reporting party said someone flattened 10 tires on his vehicle and three others at the residence between 2:30 and 6:30 a.m. The estimated damage was $880. At the time of the report, the suspect had not been located for questioning.

8:43 a.m.: An officer responded to the 900 block of West 16th Street for a property damage report. Someone had slashed the tires of the victim’s truck, causing $250 in damage. The victim was able to provide a suspect.

Pettis County Sheriff’s Office

Arrests

Jan. 11

Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop in the area of U.S. Route 65 and Mather Road. The driver failed to stop for the deputies, which initiated a vehicle pursuit. The driver traveled into Benton County. With the assistance of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, stop sticks were deployed, which deflated the front two tires. The vehicle came to a stop in a field and the driver attempted to flee on foot. Deputies were able to catch the driver, John Roger Dory. Dory had several felony warrants for his arrest. He was arrested for driving with a revoked/suspended license, resisting arrest, and the warrants. He has been charged and issued a $25,000 bond, cash or surety.

Jan. 14

1:12 a.m.: Jimmy L. Appleberry, 46, of Knob Noster, was arrested in Johnson County for driving with a revoked license, registration violation and a misdemeanor Johnson County warrant.
