Jan. 18

2:47 a.m.: Melissa D. Cartmill, 40, of the 400 block of North Hurley Avenue, was arrested after a vehicle stop in the area of Moniteau Avenue and Broadway Boulevard for failing to dim headlights and indicators of impairment. She was taken to a hospital and then to the Pettis County Jail where she was placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of driving while intoxicated - drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

8:26 a.m.: Thomas Russell Beck, 57, of the 1600 block of Honeysuckle Road, was arrested after officers responded to a hit-and-run on West 16th Street and Clarendon Road. A MoDOT crosswalk sign was discovered still in the street along with various truck parts. Officers located the driver and arrested him for driving with a suspended license, driving while intoxicated, and leaving the scene of an accident. Formal charges have been submitted to the Sedalia municipal prosecutor. 

12:10 p.m.: Angel Escobar, 23, of Sedalia, was arrested after loss prevention personnel from a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard reported a theft that occurred Jan. 8. Escobar came to the SPD to turn himself in and was arrested, transported to the Pettis County Jail, and placed on a 24-hour hold pending the filing of a state charge of stealing.
