This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Jan. 13

11:04 p.m.: Troy James Harms, 39, of the 1200 block of South Grand Avenue, was arrested at his residence for stealing vehicle parts/accessories, first-degree property damage, first-degree trespassing, unlawful possession of an illegal weapon and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Officers responded to the area of Cooper Street and Park Avenue for a suspect cutting off the exhaust with a grinder. After an investigation, it was determined a catalytic converter was cut off of a bus in the 500 block of North Park Avenue. The converter was recovered by officers. One arrest was made and state charges are being requested on a second suspect.

Jan. 19

1:54 a.m.: Maria G. Hernandez, 26, of the 1700 block of East Fourth Street, was arrested near the intersection of East Broadway Boulevard and South Hancock Avenue for driving with a suspended license and three warrants. A traffic stop was conducted for expired registration.

7:41 p.m.: Sherwood K. Limback, 54, of the 900 block of Winchester Drive, was arrested in the 1500 block of Thompson Boulevard for driving with a suspended license. A traffic stop was initiated for stopping past the stop line.

8:41 p.m.: Tylor G. Washington, 20, of Sedalia, was arrested near the intersection of East Broadway Boulevard and South Montgomery Avenue for resisting arrest and a warrant. A traffic stop was conducted for a vehicle with a defective rear license plate light. The passenger fled from the vehicle. An officer started a foot pursuit and secured the suspect, who had a Pettis County failure to appear warrant.

Jan. 20

1:26 a.m.: Hector R. Martinez-Diaz, 29, of the 2600 block of Bristol Lane, was arrested near the intersection of South Ohio Avenue and East 10th Street for driving while intoxicated (drugs). A traffic stop was conducted for a vehicle with no plates. After an investigation, it was determined the driver was impaired by drugs.

Incidents

Jan. 18

1:51 p.m.: An officer responded to a business in the 2500 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a theft report. An employee reported someone stole a catalytic converter from one of the business’ vehicles and it was estimated that it would cost about $2,370.40 to replace it. The incident was caught on video.

11:11 p.m.: An officer responded to the 1200 block of East 15th Street for a subject trespassing on the property. The subject left prior to law enforcement’s arrival but was seen on video trespassing on the property and conducting sexual acts visible to the resident.

Jan. 19

11:17 p.m.: Officers responded to the 1600 block of South Engineer Avenue in reference to a gunshot. There were no injured parties or damaged property discovered. Officers found a single spent shell casing. No suspects have been identified.

Arrests

Jan. 18

5:41 a.m.: Maria G. Sotelo was issued a court summons for speeding and operating a vehicle without a valid license after a traffic stop was conducted for speeding in the area of U.S. Route 65 and state Route HH.

Jan. 19

3:16 a.m.: John Zimmerman, of Sedalia, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and warrants. Deputies observed someone, Zimmerman, they were familiar with and knew had Pettis County warrants in the 300 block of West Broadway Boulevard.
