This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Jan. 23

2:25 p.m.: Jasmine U. McCartney, 31, of the 1600 block of Heck Avenue, was arrested after officers responded to 120 E. 16th St. in reference to a disturbance. It was determined a suspect from a theft was at the business. McCartney was placed under arrest and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a charge of stealing.

Jan. 26

9:24 p.m.: Megan E. Craig, 28, of Green Ridge, was arrested after officers observed a vehicle with no license plate lights and conducted a stop at East Broadway Boulevard and Harding Avenue. A check showed Craig had a suspended driver's license and she was placed under arrest and later released roadside. 

9:40 p.m.: Burl A. Brown, 64, of the 200 block of East Jackson Street, was arrested after a vehicle stop in the area of Sellers Road and East Broadway Boulevard for failure to maintain a lane. It was determined the driver was intoxicated by drugs and still had methamphetamine caked to his nose. He was arrested and while in the patrol car attempted to swallow drugs and dropped it and another controlled substance on the seat. He was taken to the hospital, and then the Pettis County Jail, and was put on a 24-hour hold on pending State charges of felony driving while intoxicated and two counts of possession of a controlled substance. 

Jan. 27

2:05 a.m.: Timothy Branch, 33, of the 1000 block of West Broadway Boulevard, was arrested after officers observed a vehicle fail to come to a complete stop at a stop sign. A computer check showed the driver add a revoked driver's license and officers noticed signs of intoxication. Branch was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated and driving with a revoked driver's license. 

Incidents

Jan. 26

6:20 a.m.: Officers responded to Elite Dry Cleaners, 3232 W. 16th St., for a found bicycle. The bicycle was left abandoned early Sunday, was collected and is being stored at the Sedalia Police Department.

8:32 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 700 block of North Osage Avenue for a report of a burglary. The victim stated if someone stole $4,000 from her apartment. There are no suspects at this time.

Incidents

Jan. 26

7:45 p.m.:  A Pettis County deputy responded to a violation of a protection order on the 4200 block of Par 5 Drive. The reporting party stated her ex-husband was messaging her children on their personal email accounts. After an investigation, it was found the ex-husband had violated an ex parte order that is currently active in the state of California. Charges are being sought for violation of the order.
