Police Reports July 12

This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

July 8

4:06 p.m.: Brian Daniel Vance, 19, of the 100 block of East 13th Street, was arrested after officers were dispatched for an assist agency call. Contact was made with the Missouri Department of Social Services Children's Division, and a random walkthrough of the residence was conducted by officers. Marijuana and drug paraphernalia were located and seized by officers. Vance was issued a summons for possession of marijuana. 

July 10

8:13 p.m.: Samantha L. Kinner, 37, of the 300 block of Heard Avenue, was arrested after officers took a property damage report at the Sedalia Housing Authority, 500 Welch Court. Kinner was observed near a vehicle and shortly after four neighbors noticed the victim's tire had been punctured. Witnesses on scene positively ID'd the suspect using a photo. Officers located Kinner and placed her under arrest for harassment and tampering. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail and was booked and released with charges of second-degree tampering with a utility meter and second-degree harassment. 

Incidents

July 5

11:33 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to the police department lobby in reference to a property damage report. A male subject stated a juvenile had been running up and kicking his garage door and messing with his front door in the 2300 block of West Third Street. Photos and video camera footage were provided to the officer. This is an ongoing investigation. 

12:04 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to a business in the 2200 block of South Limit Avenue in response to a vandalism report. Officers were told somebody drove through the parking lot just before midnight and threw eggs, hitting an enclosed trailer on the lot. The case is under investigation. 

July 8

5:48 p.m.: Officers responded to the 1400 block of South Beacon Avenue for a report of a stolen vehicle. Contact was made with two male subjects who reported their vehicles were stolen by an unknown suspect sometime overnight. 

9:10 p.m.: A victim came to the Sedalia Police Department to make a burglary report. They stated that overnight July 5 items had been taken from his residence. Suspect information was provided. 

10:09 p.m.: An officer responded to the Bothwell Regional Health Center emergency room for a dog bite report. The incident occurred in the 1500 block of West Fourth Street and a 1-year-old child sustained minor injuries to her face. A report was completed to document the incident. 

July 9

3:44 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to South Hancock Avenue and East 11th Street for a hit-and-run accident. The victim stated a vehicle collided with his parked car while traveling north on Hancock Avenue. Police took pictures of the damage and attached them to a report. There are no suspects at this time. 

10:02 p.m.: Officers responded to East Broadway Boulevard and Sellers Road for a truck fire. The Sedalia Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire. The truck was involved in roadway construction at the time and was unoccupied. No injuries were reported from the fire. 

10:24 p.m.: Officers responded to the 600 block of East 10th Street for a subject wanting to turn in a gun they were not supposed to have. The gun was given to the subject by a friend who also is not supposed to have it, and was turned over to the police for safekeeping.

July 10

7:14 a.m.: An officer responded to the 400 block of East 14th Street for an assault report. Contact was made with the victim who stated that while at work in the 3300 block of West 10th Street, a co-worker got chest-to-chest with her and yelled in her face. 

3:36 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 2700 block of South Grand Avenue in reference to a missing person report. An officer spoke with a caller who said his granddaughter had been missing since July 4. Her current location is unknown and the investigation is ongoing.

7:56 p.m.: An officer responded to the 1300 block of South Carr Avenue for a report of a burglary in progress. A victim reported that overnight on July 4 and again on July 10 someone entered his garage and stole a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Incidents

July 9

2:06 p.m.: Deputies took a report for a non-injury two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Highway B and Highway 127 north of Green Ridge. Those drivers were insured and both vehicles were drivable.

Arrests

July 8

1:30 p.m.: Ronald E. Moore, 63, of Shawnee, Kansas, was arrested in Morgan County for driving while intoxicated – first offense, failure to drive on the right half of the roadway resulting in a crash, and driving with a revoked driver’s license. He was released.

9:39 p.m.: Rico L. Robinson, 34, of Columbia, was arrested in Pettis County for a felony warrant from Howard County, a felony warrant from Moberly County, felony driving with a revoked driver's license, felony possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold. 

10:46 p.m.: Xavier A. Fely, 29, of Knob Noster, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated, speeding, and no valid registration. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.

July 9

1:11 a.m.: Ivan John J. Hartman, 23, of Warrensburg, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated, failure to have two lit headlamps, no valid driver's license, and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway. He was transported to the Johnson County Jail and released. 

5:53 p.m.: Anthony J. Grenier, 35, of Raytown, was arrested in Henry County for felony possession of a controlled substance – psilocybin and speeding. He was transported to the Henry County Jail and released.

July 10

3:21 a.m.: Randy V. Valeros, 27, of Poplar Bluff, was arrested in Moniteau County for driving while intoxicated – prior offender. He was released.
