This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests
July 8
12:40 p.m.: Whitney Keith Reynolds, 23, of Marshall, was arrested after a vehicle stop at South Limit Avenue and West Third Street for expired registration. Reynolds was found to have an active warrant from Saline County. He was arrested without incident. During an inventory search, several items related to drug activity were found along with property believed to be stolen. Information during the investigation led to a search warrant of a motel room at American Inn, which led to the recovery of additional stolen items related to drug activity. Two adults were arrested in that incident and two juveniles in the room were turned over to the care of family. At the conclusion of this vehicle stop and search warrant, three individuals were transported to the Pettis County Jail. Reynolds was charged with felony resisting arrest, drug possession, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
11:52 p.m.: Cody W. Hall, 25, of Otterville, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to a business in the 300 block of East 16th Street for a report of an attempted theft and property damage. A subject was seen on video attempting to break into the vacuums and attempting to break into a utility room. The suspect was located in the 100 block of East 16th Street, placed under arrest, transported to the Pettis County Jail, and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges.
July 9
2:31 p.m.: It was discovered that three catalytic converters were stolen from three different vehicles parked on property in the 3800 block of South Limit Avenue. There are no suspects and the cost to replace the converters was estimated at $3,000.
3:10 p.m.: A complainant came to the SPD in reference to trespassing. They stated that a male suspect entered a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard after being issued a trespass warning. State charges of first-degree trespassing are being sent to the prosecutor.
3:30 p.m.: A victim came to the SPD lobby and reported they had been scammed out of $500. Someone had contacted them by phone and told them they needed to pay $500 with a gift card to avoid being arrested on an active warrant. The victim found out it was a scam after calling the sheriff's office to see if the warrant was still active. There is no suspect information at this time.
8:28 p.m.: An officer responded to the 1300 block of East Seventh Street for a hit-and-run accident. The victim stated his vehicle was struck overnight, causing damage to the rear bumper. The victim valued the damage at $700. Evidence was collected at the scene. A suspect has not been located.
6:14 p.m.: Andres Navarro-Garcia, 23, of the 3400 block of West Broadway Boulevard, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to the 700 block of Winchester Drive regarding an accident. It was found one of the drivers did not have a valid driver's license or insurance. He was arrested, transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked, and released with charges of driving without a valid driver's license and failure to provide proof of insurance.
10:05 p.m.: Bryan K. Mumby, 41, of the 1500 block of South Moniteau Avenue, was arrested after an officer responded to the 300 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a subject passed out at the wheel holding a beer can. Mumby was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated, transported to the SPD, and released to a sober person with a municipal citation.
July 10
2:09 a.m.: David D. Williams, 25, of the 900 block of East 13th Street, was arrested after a traffic stop in the 700 block of East Broadway Boulevard. The driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated and transported to the SPD where he was processed and released with a summons.
3:23 a.m.: Vanessa A. Rochin, 18, of the 400 block of West Fourth Street, was arrested after a traffic stop on Harrison Avenue near West Third Street for failure to signal and no plate lights. The driver was in possession of marijuana, driving without a license, and driving while intoxicated by drugs. She was arrested, transported to a hospital, then to the Pettis County Jail, and charged with driving while intoxicated-drugs, possession of marijuana, and driving without a valid license pending release to a sober person.
July 11
12:18 a.m.: Jose de Jesus Sotelo, 42, of the 400 block of Veterans Memorial Drive, was arrested after a traffic stop for a car disobeying the red light near North Ohio and East Jefferson avenues. Officers determined he was driving while intoxicated. He was arrested, booked into the Pettis County Jail, and released to a sober party.
12:28 p.m.: Caleb W. Henshaw, 25, the 200 block of South Moniteau Avenue, was arrested after officers responded to a business in the 600 block of West Broadway Boulevard for trespassing. The suspect had already left the area after being forcibly removed from inside the closed business. Henshaw was located at a nearby business by officers. He was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center for his injuries. Charges of first-degree trespassing are being sought.
1:23 a.m.: Michael S. Anderson, 39, of the 500 block of South Grand Avenue, was arrested after a vehicle stop near Fifth Street and Grand Avenue for speeding. The driver was arrested for driving with a suspended license and driving while intoxicated-prior offender. Anderson was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked and released to a sober driver.
2:18 a.m.: Terrence J. Cooper, 43, of the 500 block of North Moniteau Avenue, was arrested after officers were dispatched for a report of a disturbance with weapons. Cooper was arrested for fourth-degree domestic assault after evidence indicated he pulled a knife and threatened a man known to him. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges.
2:58 a.m.: Jay John, 25, of the 2700 block of Graham Drive, was arrested after officers responded to a business in the 3500 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a 911 call. An employee was assaulted by a patron. The suspect was located and arrested for third-degree assault, transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked and released.
3:38 a.m.: Tina M. Hendrix, 53, of Warsaw, was arrested after officers responded to the Bothwell Emergency Room for a suspicious person looking into vehicles. Contact was made with the suspect, who was issued a trespass warning from the hospital. She was found in possession of methamphetamine, tramadol, and marijuana. She was arrested, transported to the Pettis County Jail, and booked on a 24-hour hold pending charges.
3:24 p.m.: Tiffiney D. Proctor, 38, of the 1900 block of West Broadway Boulevard, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to the 600 block of East 18th Street regarding a disturbance with weapons. The victim stated Proctor had thrown a brick at their vehicle and had raised the brick in a threatening manner. The victim estimated the damage at $1,000. The suspect was arrested for first-degree property damage and fourth-degree domestic assault.
Incidents
July 9
10:47 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 600 block of West 16th Street for a report of identity theft. The victim stated that overnight July 8 someone gained access to his bank account and took $698. A person named as a possible suspect was not located for questioning.
8:08 p.m.: Officers responded to the 1200 block of East 11th Street for a theft report. The victim reported a suspect had taken her push mower worth $150. The victim wished to pursue charges.
11:14 p.m.: A traffic stop was conducted near the intersection of West Broadway Boulevard and South Sneed Avenue for improper vehicle registration. A Missouri license plate was seized from the suspect vehicle. The plate was placed into evidence holding to be returned to the Department of Revenue.
11:38 p.m.: Officers responded to East Fourth Street and South Moniteau Avenue for a dog bite report. The victim had an injury and requested transport by Pettis County Ambulance District to Bothwell Regional Health Center. A dog bite report was completed.
July 10
9:41 a.m.: An officer responded to the 600 block of South New York Avenue for a theft report. The caller stated he paid a contractor $10,000 in April to do work on his house but the work was never completed and the contractor cannot be found. A report was completed.
10:51 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to a business in the 800 block of South Limit Avenue for theft. A suspect took vitamins from the business and then fled when confronted by management. They have not been located at this time.
6:16 p.m.: Officers responded to a business in the 4200 block of East Broadway Boulevard for a theft. Staff said the suspect took air fresheners from the store and left without paying. The business wished to pursue charges.
10:13 p.m.: A fraud report was taken in the SPD lobby. The victim reported $994.69 had been charged on his Visa debit card without his authorization. The card company had been contacted and 14 charges were reported to them as fraudulent charges. The charges were made in various states. There are no suspects at this time.
11:54 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to assist Pettis County deputies with a vehicle theft from the 200 block of Tori Lane. The same vehicle was used in the theft at the Union Pacific Railroad in the 600 block of South Marshall Avenue. Suspects are unknown at this time.
July 11
7:04 p.m.: Officers responded to the 500 block of West Fifth Street for a theft report. The victim reported the catalytic converter to his vehicle had been stolen around July 2. A theft report was made with a part estimate at $800.
Pettis County Sheriff's Office
Arrests
3 p.m.: An unnamed suspect was arrested at a business in the 23000 block of Highway MM for shoplifting. The reporting person stated the suspect left the store with a bag of chips and a 44-ounce drink without paying for them. The suspect walked north into the trees and was located at the apartments on the 23000 block of Highway MM, taken into custody for stealing, and transported to the Pettis County Jail.
Incidents
July 10
Midnight: A subject reported a stolen telescopic forklift from a business in the 100 block of Tori Lane. Deputies later recovered the forklift near the business.
7 p.m.: A deputy was dispatched to the 100 block of Webster Road in Smithton for a report of a stolen bike. The reporting person stated someone took a black 22-inch bike from her front yard overnight July 8.

July 9
2:53 p.m.: Tanjya L. Gordon, 40, of Sedalia, was arrested in Johnson County for a Johnson County warrant, a Pettis County warrant, and driving without a valid license. She was transported to the Johnson County Jail.
4:14 p.m.: Michelle D. Pratt, 46, of Bowling Green, was arrested in Saline County for driving while intoxicated. She was transported to Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall and released.
July 10
6:55 p.m.: Andrew T. Briggs, 27, Cedar Lake, Indiana, was arrested in Morgan County for allowing a passenger to ride on the rear deck of a vessel, and boating while intoxicated. He was released on summons.
July 11
12:33 a.m.: Paige M. Cline, 27, of Eldon, was arrested in Benton County for driving while intoxicated. She was transported to the Benton County Jail and released.
2:52 p.m.: Jerome T. Burke, 27, of Olathe, Kansas, was arrested in Moniteau County for felony tampering with motor vehicle, felony resisting arrest, felony possession of controlled substance-20 grams of hallucinogenic mushrooms, misdemeanor possession of 10 grams or less of marijuana, no seat belt, no valid driver's license, careless and imprudent driving, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, no insurance, failure to signal, and following too closely. Burke was transported to the Moniteau County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.
