This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

July 14

7:29 p.m.: Mark Wayne Pate, 60, of Highway F in Sedalia, was arrested after officers initiated a traffic stop for no front license plate and expired registration. A passenger provided false information and was fingerprinted to identify. A check showed he had two active Pettis County warrants and an active probation and parole warrant. He was arrested, transported to the Pettis County Jail, and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges on the warrants and for identity theft.

7:24 p.m.: Jeremy L. Holley, 40, of Windsor, was arrested after an officer responded to the 100 block of South Limit Avenue for a report of a vehicle accident. One of the drivers involved had a revoked license. He was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was booked and released pending a state charge of driving with a revoked license.

7:47 p.m.: Carl Bishop Boulware, 36, of the 1100 block of West 11th Street, was arrested after a traffic stop at West 16th Street and South Stewart Avenue for expired and improper registration. The driver was found to have a suspended license out of Alabama. He was arrested, transported to the police department, and released with a citation.

July 15

1:05 a.m.: Chardy H. Stephen, 39, of Hamilton, Ohio, was arrested after a traffic stop near the intersection of West Broadway Boulevard and Winchester Drive. The driver was arrested for having a revoked license out of Hawaii and was transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was placed on a 24-hour hold pending state charges. 

Incidents

July 13

6:31 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to 2400 South Limit Avenue for a hit-and-run accident. The victim stated his vehicle was parked in the parking lot while they were inside. They returned to notice the damage.

11:57 p.m.: Officers responded to the 700 block of West Third Street in reference to a robbery and fire. The caller stated she was robbed at gunpoint and during that time a fire broke out. The residence was empty and the fire was extinguished upon arrival. No injuries were reported.

10:38 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 600 block of East 16th Street in reference to property damage. The caller said someone had cut a large slash in her above-ground pool. She estimated it would cost $2,000 to replace the pool. No arrests have been made at this time.

July 14

1:03 p.m.: An officer took a report in the SPD lobby for a theft. The subject stated her juvenile son had been stealing money out of her bank account. A report was completed and sent to the Pettis County Juvenile Office.

1:45 p.m.: An officer responded to the Bothwell Regional Health Center emergency room for a report of an animal bite. The complainant stated that a family dog bit a toddler in the home leaving a puncture wound on the child. 

July 15

3:32 a.m.: Officers initiated a traffic stop on a car near North Summit Avenue and West Saline Street. The car failed to yield and took off at a high rate of speed. It was not pursued and a failure to yield report was made.

Incidents

July 15

2:45 a.m.: A deputy on patrol in the area of East 28th Street and M Highway in Sedalia discovered a gray Honda Pilot located at the end of a vacant lot. The vehicle came back as stolen and was towed by State Fair Towing for safekeeping. The victim was contacted by Saline County deputies.
