This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

June 30

9:46 a.m.: Gregory P. Watson, 32, of Independence, was arrested after officers responded to the 1400 block of East 16th Street for a subject check. Officers located a male suspect and were advised that he had active warrants. After arresting the suspect, a large number of tools with identifying marks were located on the victim's property. Contact was made with the owner who said the suspect had taken them and broken in to get them. Watson was placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of first-degree burglary and stealing. 

7:12 p.m.: Bruce Daniel Kitchell, 28, of the 400 block of East 13th Street, was arrested after a traffic stop on a vehicle without any license plates in the area of West First Street Terrace and South State Fair Boulevard. Kitchell had a suspended license through the State of Arizona. He was arrested and transported to the SPD where he was fingerprinted and given a citation.

8:03 p.m.: Sarah Darleen McAteer, 30, of the 600 block of West 16th Street, was arrested after a traffic stop for a vehicle that did not have a readable front license plate in the area of West 16th Street and South Missouri Avenue. McAteer had a revoked Missouri driver's license and was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending charges.

11:05 p.m.: Willie Ray Waddell, 53, of Otterville, was arrested after officers were dispatched to McAnally Court for a domestic disturbance. The suspect had choked and further assaulted the victim while the victim had their 1-year-old child in her hands. Waddell became erratic and aggressive toward officers and refused several commands. He was arrested for second-degree domestic assault, child endangerment, felony resisting arrest, and an outstanding Pettis County warrant.
