This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

July 23

11:10 a.m.: Jeffrey R. Allen, 60, of the 7000 block of McVey Road, was arrested after a traffic stop at East Broadway Boulevard and Crescent Avenue for a moving violation. The driver gave consent to search, revealing drug paraphernalia containing a crystal substance that tested positive as methamphetamine. Allen was arrested and searched incident to arrest, revealing more paraphernalia on his person. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was booked and released on charges of possession of a dangerous drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.

9:41 p.m.: Quinton Noel Gano, 40, of the 900 block of East of Broadway Boulevard, was arrested after a traffic stop on a car for failing to stop at a stop sign near East Seventh Street and South Brown Avenue. The driver's license status had been revoked and he was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without a driver's license. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges. 

July 24

1:33 a.m.: Christina Elaine Radu, 38, of Warrensburg, was arrested after a truck was stopped in the area of South Lafayette Avenue and East Third Street for moving violations. It was determined that the driver was intoxicated. Radu was arrested for driving while intoxicated, transported to the SPD, then released to a sober person.

7:13 p.m.: Brook E. Dowell, 29, of the 400 block of Buckner Court, was arrested after officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle because the driver was recognized as having a suspended license. The driver's license status was indeed suspended and he was arrested, taken to the police department, and released with a ticket for driving with a suspended driver's license.

8:33 p.m.: Anthony Lamar Melton, 33, of the 400 block of West Henry Street, was arrested after officers initiated an investigative traffic stop on a car near Sixth Street and South Vermont Avenue to see if the driver was the owner because the owner's license status was revoked. The driver was indeed the owner and his license status was revoked. He was arrested, transported to the Pettis County Jail, and booked for driving with a revoked driver's license. 

July 25

1:39 a.m.: Cruz Escobar, 23, from the 500 block of Wilkerson Street, was arrested after a traffic stop in the 500 block of Wilkerson Street for failure to display plates. The driver was arrested and transported to the SPD for driving with a suspended driver's license and released.

10:29 a.m.: Roy L. Vickers, 40, of the 1200 block of East 14th Street was arrested for driving with a revoked license after officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of East 14th Street to a disturbance. An individual on scene stated the pickup truck left the roadway and drove on his lawn. The officer made contact with the pickup truck driver and he was arrested for driving with a revoked license and was released on scene.

2:10 p.m.: Marvino Damry, 41, of the 4000 block of West Main Street, was arrested after a traffic stop for a car failing to maintain its lane. The driver was suspected of driving while intoxicated and performed sobriety tests. He failed and was arrested, taken to the police department, and released with a city ticket for driving while intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle without a driver's license.

8:50 p.m.: Angela Dawn Livergood, 43, of Columbia, was arrested after a traffic stop at 16th Street and South Ohio Avenue. The driver was believed by officers to be driving while intoxicated. She was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail pending sobriety. A state charge of driving while intoxicated-drugs was submitted to the Pettis County prosecutor's office. 

Incidents

July 20

2:01 p.m.: Officers responded to the 2400 block of Stacy Lane for a disturbance. When they arrived the caller stated a male busted out his car window with a baseball bat and left a dent in his fender. The investigation is ongoing.

3:26 p.m.: Officers took a report of theft in the SPD lobby from a caller who stated he and his wife were shopping at a business in the 800 block of South Limit Avenue when he put some medications into his vehicle. He later went to remove the medications from his vehicle and they were gone. The case is ongoing.

July 23

12:31 p.m.: Officers responded to the 500 block of South Grand Avenue for a report of property damage. The victim stated her juvenile son damaged an interior wall. A juvenile referral was completed.

2:21 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 900 Block of South Vermont Avenue for a report of a runaway. The juvenile’s grandfather stated she was dropped off at Smith-Cotton High at 7 a.m. for JROTC. His granddaughter never came home. She was described as a 14-year-old white female with brown hair wearing a black hoodie, black slacks and a black backpack with camouflage boots. A Facebook post indicated the juvenile was later found safe.

2:47 p.m.: Officers responded to the 400 block of North Quincy Avenue for an unrelated call. While inside the residence officers observed deplorable living conditions in the house. There were two juveniles present and due to unsanitary living conditions a report was completed for documentation. A hotline was completed to the Missouri abuse and neglect hotline.

July 24

2:40 a.m.: Jose Anibal Aguirre, 42, of the 600 block of West Third Street, was arrested after officers responded to the 200 block of South Grand Avenue for a report of a motor vehicle accident. It was reported that an SUV struck a parked car. Following an investigation, the driver of the vehicle was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and driving without a license. Both vehicles were towed and the driver was processed at the SPD and released.

July 25

1:36 p.m. An officer responded to East Ninth Street and South Murray Avenue for a property damage report. The subject stated a suspect threw a large rock and his car, causing damage. The damage was valued at $300. At the time of the report, a suspect has not been located.

9:19 p.m.: Officers responded to the 2900 block of James Road for a report of a domestic disturbance. Both parties claimed minor injury from the other but a primary aggressor remained undetermined. The parties separated for the evening and a 12-hour log was started.

11:26 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to Centennial Park, 1500 East 16th Street, after Guardsman security located locks pried off multiple concession stands. It did not appear that anything was stolen from within the stands.

Arrests

July 24

2:42 p.m.: Ross Lagis was arrested after deputies conducted a vehicle stop on U.S. Highway 50 and Buckley Road. A search of the vehicle was conducted and more than 19 grams of marijuana was found in the vehicle and marijuana paraphernalia was located. The driver was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail for possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

July 26

2:44 a.m.: Victor E. Turley was arrested after Pettis County deputies and a K-9 Unit were dispatched to the 6600 block of U.S. Highway 50 in Pettis County in reference to a domestic assault no longer in progress. Deputies arrested Turley for fourth-degree domestic assault. During the investigation, drug-related items were seized to be destroyed. 

2:53 p.m.: Ismar Duenas, of Marshall, was arrested after several 911 calls of a wrong-way driver. Deputies along with the K-9 unit responded to the area of North U.S. Highway 65 and were able to stop the vehicle prior to a serious accident. Duenas was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without a valid license, driving while intoxicated, and having an outstanding warrant from Homeland Security. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail.

July 22

8:26 p.m.: Deputies took a report in reference to a stolen Bobcat over the phone. The investigation is ongoing.

July 24

12:30 p.m.: Deputies took a report for theft of items from a storage building in the 25000 block of Route HH in Pettis County. 

July 25

8 a.m.: Deputies responded to the 20000 block of Pemberton Road in Pettis County in reference to property damage. The investigation is ongoing.

8 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the Bothwell Regional Health Center Emergency Department on a report of a subject being shot in the foot. It was determined the incident possibly happened somewhere on state Route M when the reporting person accidentally shot himself in the foot.

Arrests

July 23

6:32 p.m.: John A. Carney, 23, of Sedalia, was arrested in Pettis County for possession of a controlled substance, driving while intoxicated, and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway involving a crash. He was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center and released.

July 24

1:50 p.m.: Dalton D. Bentley, 28, of Raytown, was arrested in Henry County for felony possession of marijuana. He was transported to the Henry County Jail and released.

6:54 p.m.: John D. Fulmer, 48, of Warrensburg, was arrested in Johnson County for possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while intoxicated, and careless and imprudent driving. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.

11:31 p.m.: Edwer Garcia Ramirez, 29, of Sedalia, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated and driving without a valid license. He was transported to the Johnson County Jail and placed on a 12-hour hold.

July 25

12:35 a.m.: Cole A. Paxton, 22, of Windsor, was arrested in Henry County for driving while intoxicated. He was transported to the Henry County Jail and released.

2:43 a.m.: Bo D. Skeel, 30, of Lincoln, was arrested in Benton County for felony possession of marijuana and driving while intoxicated. He was transported to the Benton County Jail and released.
