This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

July 21

12:54 a.m.: Jose Rodriguez Talabera, 37, of the 1300 block of South Grand Avenue, was arrested after a traffic stop for expired registration in an alley near South Vermont Avenue and West Sixth Street. Talabera was intoxicated and there was a minor in the vehicle. He was arrested and transported to the Sedalia Police Department and then the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released pending charges of driving while intoxicated - prior offender, and endangering the welfare of a child.

July 25

7:16 p.m.: Brandon M. Crawford Jr., 21, of the 1300 block of Walker Circle, was issued a summons after a traffic stop near West Broadway Boulevard and South Kentucky Avenue. Crawford was found to have a suspended driving status and was arrested and released on scene with a summons for driving while suspended. 

Incidents

July 25

8:18 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to a business in the 100 block of Rebar Road in reference to a theft. The caller stated the hard cover on a 78 Ford Bronco was stolen over the weekend. The Bronco was being hauled on a car trailer, which was parked at the business. A review of surveillance footage shows the semi pulling into the lot with the hardcover already missing. 

10:17 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 1900 block of South Osage Avenue for a report of possible child neglect. A report has been forwarded to the child abuse hotline.

Arrests

July 25

9:13 p.m.: Ridge Scott, 32, of Warrensburg, was arrested after deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of Highway 50 and Highway MM for a vehicle exceeding the posted speed limit. Scott was booked for driving with a suspended license – third offense and a probable cause search of the vehicle yielded a small amount of marijuana, which was seized for destruction. No charges are being sought for the marijuana.

1:31 p.m.: Pettis County deputies took a burglary report in the 31000 block of Highway E in Green Ridge.
