This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

July 25

12:51 a.m.: Guy R. Fehr, 41, of the 100 block of East 13th Street, was arrested after officers conducted a traffic stop for expired plates near the intersection of West Main Street and South Vermont Avenue. Fehr was found to have a suspended driving status, transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending a charge of felony driving while revoked.

July 26

6:40 p.m.: Samuel L. Comfort, 18, of La Monte, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to 18th Street and South Grand Avenue in reference to a disturbance. It was discovered that an adult male was throwing rocks at juveniles and calling them names. A male family member then confronted the man throwing rocks. Comfort then called 911. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail, placed on a 24-hour hold, and charged with harassment and third-degree assault.

Incidents

July 25

1:15 p.m.: An officer took a report from an employee at a business in the 3400 block of West Broadway Boulevard. A DoorDash order was picked up from the business that never made it to its intended customer. 

5:43 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to a business in the 1300 block of West Main Street for a report of property damage. The caller stated that sometime in the past month, someone had kicked in his vehicle door while it was parked at the business, causing an estimated $1,000 damage.

July 26

2:35 p.m.: A suspect came to a residence in the 200 block of East 13th Street wanting property. The victim told the suspect they were not getting the property and the suspect pulled out a hatchet and demanded the items. Once denied, the suspect swung the hatchet at the victim two times and struck overhead water lines, causing them to rupture. The suspect then fled and officers were unable to locate him. He is known and charges are being sought. 

7:39 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 3300 block of McVey Road for a mutual aid request. Dispatch advised there was a physical disturbance in progress. Officers determined a domestic assault had taken place. Deputies arrived on the scene and took command of the incident.

Arrests

July 26

8:31 p.m.: Igor Garbuzov was arrested after Pettis County deputies and Sedalia police officers responded to the 3300 block of McVey Road in reference to a fight in progress. After investigation, Garbuzov was transported to Pettis County Jail, where he was placed on a 24-hour hold pending formal charges of second-degree domestic assault and third-degree domestic assault. 

Incidents

July 26

12:42 p.m.: Deputies took a report for stealing in the 21000 block of Saline Street in Pettis County. The investigation continues.

Arrests

July 26

2:31 p.m.: Nicholas A. Cordiero, 26, of Warrensburg, was arrested in Johnson County for felony promoting child pornography and possession of child pornography. He was transported to the Johnson County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold. 

3 p.m.: Kenkori L. Grant, 30, of Kansas City, was arrested in Pettis County for felony driving while intoxicated. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail.
