This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

June 27

4:40 p.m.: Juan Aguire Yat, 27, of the 100 block of South Quincy Avenue, was issued a summons after a vehicle stop near Main Street and Gentry Avenue for not using a turn signal. During the stop, the driver was arrested for no driver's license and issued a citation.

5:09 p.m.: Lindsay L. Holt, 51, of the 1500 block of Missouri Avenue, was arrested after a traffic stop on a van with no visible license plates at a business in the 700 block of West 16th Street. The driver was confirmed to have a suspended driving status and was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked and released.

June 30

5:22 p.m.: Gregory P. Watson, 32, of Independence, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to a report of a stolen gun from a vehicle. The victim stated that overnight someone took a Glock 9mm pistol from her vehicle. It was discovered that Officer Pappert arrested a suspect identified as Watson who had the Glock on his person. Watson was charged with stealing.

5:53 p.m.: Anthony H. Bruce, 48, of Warsaw, was arrested after a traffic stop for a lane violation near West Main Street and South Ohio Avenue. Bruce had a suspended driver's license and was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was booked and released. The passenger provided a false name but was later identified as Darwin Potts. He was arrested on a Bates County warrant. Requested charges of identity theft are being sent to the state prosecutor.

July 1

7:54 p.m.: Brandon L. Ede, 27, of the 2100 block of McVey Road, was arrested after a traffic stop on Waterloo Drive. He was arrested for driving with a revoked driver's license and an outstanding failure to appear warrant. Was transported to the Pettis County Jail and booked and released for the driving charge. 

11:45 p.m.: Josefina Rubio-Pasqual, 28, of the 300 block of East 10th Street, was arrested after a vehicle stop at 16th Street and Vermont Avenue for moving violations. The driver provided someone else's ID and was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail for identity theft and driving without a valid license. She was placed on a 24-hour hold. 

Incidents

June 25

4:00 p.m.: Brian W. Monroe, 19, of the 1200 block of West 16th Street, was cited after officers investigated a theft that occurred in the 1500 block of West Third Street. During the investigation, officers found out the identity of one suspect, Monroe, and issued him a summons for stealing.

June 30

1:56 p.m.: An officer took a report in the SPD lobby for a child investigation. A reporting party was asked about possible indecent exposure involving a child. Information was gathered and a report was completed.

10:17 p.m.: An officer took a report of theft by phone from the victim who lives in Pennsylvania who stated money was taken from his account by a subject in Sedalia. The investigation continues.

July 1

The SPD Criminal Investigations Bureau, drug enforcement unit, and patrol officers conducted a search warrant at 1009 E. Sixth St. During the search, a large quantity of stolen property from a burglary was recovered.

On June 14, the SPD began investigating a burglary and theft that occurred in the 1000 block of East Sixth Street. Multiple items were reported stolen by the victim.

The suspect wasn't present when the search warrant was executed, but the following charges are being requested against Darien M. Harrison, 25: second-degree burglary, felony stealing, and second-degree property damage.

11:48 p.m.: An officer responded to a business in the 1500 block of Thompson Boulevard in reference to that. The victim stated that a bag of money was left on the counter and after they went to help another customer the money went missing. A suspect has been identified but not located. 

July 2

4:04 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the Bothwell Regional Health Center emergency room for a gunshot victim. A subject had field stripped his pistol and in the process discharged it and shot himself in the hand. The injury is considered minor. He was treated and released.

Incidents

July 1

2:10 p.m.: Deputies took a report of possible animal neglect in the 2000 block of Smasal Road in Pettis County. The matter has been resolved.

Arrests

June 1

2:58 p.m.: Melinda Goth, 43, of El Dorado Springs, was arrested in Pettis County for driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor Eldorado Springs warrant, and failure to register a motor vehicle. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail.

11:30 p.m.: Elijah J. Johnson, 19, of Eldon, was arrested in Morgan County for no insurance, no valid driver's license, and possession of less than 10 grams of marijuana. He was released on summons.
