This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

June 25

4 p.m.: Brian W. Monroe, 19, of the 1200 block of West 16th Street, received a summons for stealing after officers investigated a theft that occurred in the 1500 block of West Third Street. Officers found out the identity of one of the suspects and went to the 1200 block of West 16th Street to issue the summons to the suspect.

9:05 p.m.: Billy Joe Green, 36, of Independence, was arrested after a traffic stop on West Broadway Boulevard for a license violation. The driver was found in possession of methamphetamine and Xanax and was arrested.

July 2

10:57 p.m.: Billie B. Brown, 34, of the 1000 block of East 10th Street, was arrested after officers responded to Liberty Park in reference to a disturbance between a male and female. Officers were informed that the male subject drove off but saw the vehicle and made a traffic stop. Brown was confirmed to have a suspended driving status. He was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail and issued a municipal citation. 

11:36 p.m.: Austin R. Blankenship, of the 4200 block of West Main Street, was arrested after an officer responded to a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a subject trespassing. The suspect was known to have an active trespass warning restricting him from being in the business. Blankenship was issued a citation for trespassing. 

July 3

2:39 a.m.: Stephanie Nicole Monk, 40, of Kansas City, Kansas, was arrested after a traffic stop near West Broadway Boulevard and South Kentucky Avenue for a license violation. Monk was found in possession of methamphetamine and controlled pills. She was arrested.

2:41 a.m.: Paul Q. Hackney, 20, of Warrensburg, was arrested after officers responded to the 3100 block of Brianna Boulevard for a reported disturbance. A male subject was found in possession of a felony amount of marijuana and additional evidence was located to indicate he was distributing. A female subject, Zyon Dawnee Bell, 22, of Warrensburg, was discovered to have an active Johnson County warrant for a traffic violation. Both subjects were arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail.

8:54 p.m.: Braden Avery Williams, 21, of the 3800 block of South Gate Circle, was arrested after officers responded to the 2000 block of East Sixth Street for a reported disturbance. It was determined Williams had punched a man known to him in the neck. Officers attempted to take the suspect into custody but he resisted and attempted to assault them. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending state charges of fourth-degree domestic assault, assault on law enforcement, and resisting arrest. 

11:27 p.m.: Joshua Andrew Winkler, 28, of the 700 block of 15th Street, was arrested after a traffic stop near West Broadway Boulevard and South Missouri Avenue for a license violation. The driver of the vehicle had an active warrant for his arrest and was arrested. During a search of his person, methamphetamine was located.

July 4

4:10 a.m.: Patricia Carlos, 27, of the 400 block of South Montgomery Avenue, was arrested after officers responded for a noise complaint. Officers had previously responded to a similar incident earlier in the evening. Carlos was issued a citation for loud noise.

7:07 a.m.: Bridget Marie Pardee, 37, of the 1500 block of East 20th Street, was arrested after a subject check near the intersection of East Saline Street and North Engineer Avenue. The subject was arrested at the scene and taken into protective custody. Pardee was also found in possession of marijuana. She was placed on a 12-hour hold pending charges.

1:15 a.m.: Alexis R. Koch, 21, of St. Louis, was arrested after a traffic stop for a vehicle speeding and failing to maintain its lane. The odor of intoxicants was detected and it was determined the driver was also intoxicated. Koch was arrested and transported to the SPD where she provided a breath sample showing her blood alcohol content above .08. She was fingerprinted, issued a summons, and released to a sober family member.

Incidents

June 29

11:54 p.m.: Officers responded to the area of West Broadway Boulevard and South Moniteau Avenue for a vehicle accident. One of the drivers was discovered to not have a valid driver's license, insurance, and had forged a registration plate. Charges are being submitted to the Pettis County prosecutor. 

July 2

2:18 p.m.: An officer took a report over the phone regarding a stolen bicycle from the 400 block of East Fifth Street valued at $160.

1:13 p.m.: An officer responded to the 1900 block of West 11th Street in reference to a burglary. The residence stated someone entered the apartment during the overnight hours while he was away and ransacked it. It didn't appear they had stolen anything. This time the suspect has not been identified.

2:22 p.m.: Officers responded to the 1500 block of West 16th Street for a report of a male subject trespassing. The subject had left but was identified. Charges will be submitted to the Pettis County Prosecutor.

8:58 p.m.: Officers responded to the 100 block of South Park Avenue in reference to a theft. The complainant stated he was a victim of a phone scam and lost $500. No suspects have been identified.

9:02 p.m.: Officers responded to the 2300 block of East 10th Street for a theft report. The caller stated that between June 23 and July 2 someone forced entry into his home and stole several items. There are no suspects.

July 3

3:14 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 700 block of East 11th Street in reference to gunshots. The caller said someone had shot her house and her car while she and four children were in the house. No one was struck during the incident. The victim estimated damage to her property at $4,005. No arrests have been made at this time.

3:05 p.m.: An officer took a phone report regarding a theft that occurred at a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard. The suspect entered the store and left with a portable air conditioner without paying for it.

3:19 p.m.: An officer took a phone report in reference to a theft. The victim was at a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard when someone stole the platform and steering column of their mobility scooter from the bed of their pickup.

11:14 p.m.: Officers responded to the 700 block of East 11th Street for a report of fireworks being shot at a neighbor's home. Officers located fireworks debris and unspent fireworks. No contact could be made at the residence and the fireworks were seized.

July 4

3:16 p.m.: An officer took a report regarding a stolen license plate in the 1700 block of East 4th Street.

July 5

4:04 a.m.: Officers responded to the 300 block of West 10th Street for a report of property damage. When officers arrived, a vehicle was found to have the gas tank blown off.

10:01 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to a property damage incident in the 1800 block of West Broadway Boulevard. A business wall was spray-painted and officers noticed another business in the same block with the same markings painted on it. Suspects are unknown at this time.

10:04 a.m.: An officer responded to a building in the 700 block of South Massachusetts Avenue for a property damage report. The caller stated the front door had been shot multiple times overnight. A suspect has not been identified. 

12:34 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to a traffic complaint in the 2700 block of West Broadway Boulevard. The caller informed officers that a white male jumped on their vehicle and caused damage to the front hood. The suspect is unknown at this time. 

12:48 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of South Vermont Avenue for a report of property damage. The victim stated that between 11 p.m. July 3 and 9 a.m. July 4, someone scratched the body of his 2010 Ford F-150. The estimated cost to repair the vehicle is $2,000. There are no suspects at this time. 

1:12 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 1900 block of South Lamine Avenue regarding a burglary that had recently taken place. The victims reported that someone had forced their way into the residence and stole several items with an approximate combined value of $2,260. There is no suspect information available.

Arrests

July 5

3:37 p.m.: The K-9 unit conducted a traffic stop in the area of Seventh Street and Harrison Avenue. Passenger Pierre D. Sams, of Sedalia, was arrested for tampering with physical evidence and possession of marijuana. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail.

5:18 p.m.: Homer Lucas was arrested after a traffic stop on U.S. 65. in Pettis County. Lucas was arrested for driving with a revoked driver's license-second or third offense. 

Incidents

July 5

6:30 p.m.: A report was taken at the Sheriff's Office from a person stating a suspect known to her took her battery booster and cigarette case.
