Police Reports July 8

This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Sedalia Police Department

Incidents

July 6

8:19 a.m.: Officers took a report in the police department lobby for harassment. A male and female came into the lobby and wrote a statement saying they were being harassed and threatened by a family member over a home they share ownership of. No charges have been filed. 

10:33 a.m.: Officers took a report in the police department lobby for theft. A victim filed a report stating an unknown online source stole money in Apple gift cards. No suspects have been identified. 

11:39 a.m.: An officer responded to a business in the 2300 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to property damage and theft. Management advised a male subject used a front door key to enter the business while it was closed on July 4. The male then proceeded to urinate into a trash can, put a decorative plant into a second trash can and walked out with the two items. The incident was captured on video and a license plate number was obtained.

1:22 p.m.: An officer responded to the 1000 block of East Third Street in reference to a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, it was discovered that a juvenile had assaulted another juvenile. There were minor injuries between the two, and the juvenile that started the altercation was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center for evaluation. A referral was sent to the Pettis County Juvenile Office.

4:15 p.m.: An officer responded to the 800 block of East 13th Street in reference to a theft. The victim explained that a juvenile subject went onto her front porch and stole her bicycle. He was last seen riding north on Marvin Avenue from the address.

Arrests

June 26

3:04 a.m.: Maegan Rose Nusser, 21, of Sedalia, was arrested after deputies responded to a motor vehicle accident in the area of New York Avenue and McVey Road in Pettis County. With the assistance of Pettis County Joint Communications, deputies learned the driver of the vehicle had struck several parked cars and mailboxes. After an investigation, deputies arrested Nusser.

Incidents

July 6

3:20 a.m.: Deputies took a report of a stolen vehicle in the 22000 block of Highway F in Pettis County.

1:40 p.m.: A complainant in the 3600 block of Flat Creek Road reported he was a victim of online fraud.

Arrests

July 6

10:30 a.m.: Larry J. House, 59, of Independence, was arrested in Johnson County for felony possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while intoxicated – drugs, failure to signal, operating a vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner, and leaving the scene of an accident. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.
