This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

June 1

2:36 p.m.: Joshua J. Quick, 31, of Sedalia, was arrested after a traffic stop in a business parking lot in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard for an equipment violation. Quick, an occupant in the vehicle, had an active warrant and was arrested. During a search of his person, methamphetamine was located. 

June 10

12:31 a.m. Joseph R. Luera, 44, of the 1500 block of East Sixth Street, was arrested after officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of East Broadway Boulevard for a report of a wanted subject. When officers arrived, Luera fled on foot but shortly surrendered. Luera had two warrants from Pettis County and charges of resisting arrest are being submitted. 

3:42 p.m.: Judith Lee Denney, 55, of Warsaw, was arrested after officers were dispatched to the 3100 block of South Limit Avenue for a report of a trespassing incident. Denney was found to have had a trespass warning prior to this incident and was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of first-degree trespassing. 

Incidents

May 6

9:13 a.m.: A referral was received from Children's Division regarding possible child abuse. The victim was interviewed at Child Safe of Central Missouri and a suspect was identified. 

June 8

9:52 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to a business in the 2500 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a theft report. The caller stated they thought a subject placed some items in her purse and left without paying. Contact was later made with the suspect who allowed officers to search her belongings. There were no stolen items located and the subject was trespassed from the store. 

11:29 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to a business in the 3000 block of South Limit Avenue in reference to found property. An employee located three different debit/credit cards underneath the cash register. The owners of the cards could not be located, so the cards were entered into evidence for safekeeping. 

3:29 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to a disturbance no longer in progress at a business in the 4100 block of West Broadway Boulevard. There was an argument between two employees and one was let go.

June 9

6:21 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 3900 block of West Ninth Street for a report of theft. The victim stated someone had broken into her unlocked vehicle and stolen her car keys.

9:13 a.m. An officer responded to a business in the 1600 block of West Main Street In reference to a burglary. Managers advised that during the overnight hour's someone disconnected power to the business and broke into it. The suspects then stole items and cash from inside. At the time of the report, no suspects have not been identified. 

2:18 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to a report of a deceased animal in a pet crate found in the lake at Clover Dale Park, 5257 W. 32nd St. The deceased animal was retrieved by an officer and turned over to animal control.
