This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

June 14

11:33 p.m.: Vladimir T. Shalnev, 34, of the 29000 block of South Grand Avenue, was arrested after a traffic stop at 18th Street and South Kentucky Avenue for a traffic violation. Shalnev was found to have a drug-related warrant out of Texas and was in possession of narcotics. He was arrested, transported to the Pettis County Jail, and placed on a 24-hour hold for being a fugitive from justice, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and the warrant.

11:51 p.m.: William Darcel Ballance, 47, of the 800 block of Ruth Ann Drive, was arrested after officers observed a black Chevy Avalanche crossing Thompson Boulevard with excessive window tint. The owner of the vehicle was also known to have a revoked driving status.

Ballance was intoxicated and was arrested, transported to the SPD, and refused to provide a breath sample. A search warrant was obtained and the suspect was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center for a blood draw. Ballance was then transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of driving while intoxicated – chronic offender, driving with a revoked driver's license, and operating a vehicle with vision-reducing material.

12:52 p.m.: Theresa Faye Cox, 19, of the 100 block of East 13th Street, was arrested after a vehicle stop near 13th Street and Osage Avenue after committing a moving violation and displaying no license plates. The driver's Missouri driver's license had been suspended, and she was issued a municipal summons and released on scene.

June 15

10:08 p.m.: Daniel N. Scotten, 22, of Green Ridge, was arrested after a vehicle stop at West 32nd Street and Clinton Road. The driver was found to be under the influence of alcoholic beverages. He was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending state charges of driving while intoxicated.

June 16

3:59 a.m.: Byron Alfred Guilder Jr., 36, of the 300 block of West Fourth Street, was arrested after a traffic stop for expired registration at West 16th Street and McDonald Avenue. The driver was found to have a revoked driver's license and was transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was booked and released for driving with a revoked license. 

Incidents

June 10

6:53 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of West Fourth Street in reference to a possible burglary. The suspect forced his way into the house and attempted to get two juvenile females to smoke marijuana with him. The suspect left the house after one of the juvenile females called their parents. 

June 14

6:15 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the lobby of the police department in reference to a suicidal subject. The individual was entered as a missing person. 

6:38 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident at a business in the 4200 block of Wisconsin Avenue. A general information report was taken to document what the officers were told on scene. 

June 15

12:02 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to a business in the 3100 block of South Limit Avenue for an incident where a female called for help. Officers were able to establish a domestic violence incident had occurred. The victim was spoken to but the suspect was not found. Officers were unable to determine a primary physical aggressor.

Arrests

June 14

9:59 p.m.: Jeffrey M. Rauschenbach, 43, of Apache Junction, Arizona, was arrested in Pettis County for felony possession of a controlled substance. He was transported to the Pettis County Sheriff's department and released. 

10:11 p.m.: Debra H. Morrison, 65, of Boonville, was arrested in Saline County for driving while intoxicated. She was transported to the Saline County Jail and released.
