This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

June 21

8:25 p.m.: Brent T. Irvine, 58, of Sedalia, was arrested after officers responded to a business in the 2600 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to his subject urinating on a dumpster. Irvine was arrested and charged with urinating in public. He was intoxicated and was placed on a 24-hour hold at the Pettis County Jail. 

June 25

12:12 a.m.: Richard Waters, 60, and Mercedes Waters, 24, of the 3400 block of West Broadway Boulevard, were arrested after a complainant came to the SPD lobby. An employee of a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard stated they observed two individuals conceal items in their clothing and leave the store without paying. The suspects were later identified and located. Both suspects were issued a summons.

4:41 p.m.: Mayra Olmeda-Riveros, 40, of the 20000 block of Glenn Road, was arrested after a traffic stop near the intersection of West 16th Street and South Grand Avenue due to the vehicle having expired plates. The driver was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail and booked for operating a vehicle without a valid driver’s license.

7:05 p.m.: James E. Chapman, 33, of the 500 block of South Kentucky Avenue, was arrested after a traffic stop for a vehicle with no lights on in the rain, and speeding in the area of Winchester Drive and West 10th Street. The driver fled on foot from the vehicle and was apprehended. A computer check revealed the driver had a no-bond felony warrant from Greene County for tampering with a motor vehicle and had a revoked Missouri driver's license. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges on the  failure-to-appear warrant, driving with a suspended license, and resisting arrest. 

10:55 p.m.: Reina Rubero Romero, 32, of the 2800 block of South Washington Avenue, was arrested after a traffic stop for a vehicle driving on the left side of the road. The driver was found to have no driver's license. Romero was arrested and transported to the SPD, and released with a summons.

June 26

1:31 a.m.: Dakota S. Criner, 30, of the 500 block of West Seventh Street, was arrested after a traffic stop for defective tail light near West Broadway Boulevard and South Warren Avenue. His driver's license was suspended and he was arrested, transported to the SPD, and issued a City ticket for driving with a suspended driver's license. 

1:59 a.m.: Jason T. Hill, 38, of the 900 block of South Harrison Avenue, was arrested after officers were dispatched to the 400 block of East Seventh Street for a report of a disturbance. Contact was made with multiple subjects. One victim stated the suspect had pushed her back and entered her residence unlawfully. The victim stated the suspect began grabbing another victim pushing on her and trying to get her to leave with him. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was placed on a 24-hour hold pending the filing of charges of first-degree burglary, third-degree domestic assault, and fourth-degree assault.

7:14 p.m.: Bradley Alan Lee, 34, of the 600 block of East 9th Street is arrested after a traffic stop in the area of East 18th Street and South Warren Avenue. The driver admitted he had a warrant for failure to appear and was arrested for the warrant and driving with a suspended license. He was transported to the Pettis County jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.

9:30 a.m.: Justice James MacDonald, 17, of the 300 block of McAnally Court was arrested after a traffic accident in the 1000 block of West 10th Street. A parked vehicle had been struck and the striking vehicle had fled the scene. While officers were canvassing the area a vehicle matching the description was located a few blocks away. The operator was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail and booked on a charge of leaving the scene of an accident. 

8:01 p.m.: Margaret Suzanna Thorne, 35, at the 500 block of West Fifth Street, was arrested after a child investigation involving four counts of first-degree child endangerment, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was transported to the Pettis County jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.

June 27

4:17 a.m.: Alexius N. Hendrik, 21, of the 1400 block of South Stewart Avenue, was arrested after a vehicle stop in the area of East 10th Street and South Ingram Avenue for moving violations. It was determined the driver was intoxicated and she was placed under arrest, transported to the SPD for processing, and then released with a municipal citation for driving while intoxicated.

10:45 a.m.: Elios Leija Murillo, 28, of the 700 block of South State Fair Boulevard, was arrested after a traffic stop in the area of East Third Street and South Engineer Avenue. The driver provided a Mexican driver's license and a social security number collected from a contact in his phone. The suspect's information was run through dispatch and the officer was advised the suspect's driving status was revoked. He was placed under arrest, transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked and released pending State charges of driving with a suspended license and failure to maintain financial responsibility.

2:13 p.m.: Makayla E. Wallace, 23, of the 1100 block of South Harding Avenue, was arrested after a traffic stop for a vehicle with no registration in the area of Broadway Boulevard and Hancock Avenue. Wallace was taken into custody and transported to the SPD and charged with driving with a suspended license.

6:31 p.m.: Aullnie Edward Lee Colvin, 45, of the 1100 block of East 15th Street, was arrested after a traffic stop for failing to use a turn signal. The driver did not have a valid driver's license and was arrested, transported to the police department, and issued a City ticket for operating a motor vehicle without a valid license.

7:19 p.m.: Adrion E. Murray, 35, of Sedalia, was arrested after officers responded to a theft at a business in the 3000 block of South Limit Avenue. Murray was located a short distance away eating the stolen Cheetos and holding the six-pack of beer. He was placed under arrest for first-degree burglary and stealing. He was taken to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.

8:48 p.m.: Marco A. Velez, 28, of the 700 block of West Third Street, was arrested after officers responded to East Main Street and South Washington Avenue for a motor vehicle accident where the driver fled from the scene. A car had struck a utility pole and was heavily damaged. The driver was located, arrested, transported to the SPD, then to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending State charges of driving while intoxicated, driving without a valid license, leaving the scene of an accident, and identity theft. 

Incidents

June 22

7:46 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to a business in the 2800 block of East 12th Street for a possible burglary. Damage had been caused, but nothing had been taken. No suspect information is available.

June 24

6:59 p.m.: An officer responded to a business in the 1200 block of South Limit Avenue in reference to a vehicle theft. The victim stated an employee had let someone drive the company car and the car hasn't been returned for five days. A suspect has been named and charges of tampering with a motor vehicle will be sent to the prosecutor for review.

June 25

7:59 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to a business in the 3020 block of Clinton Road for a report of a theft. The reporting party stated that sometime overnight someone stole $2,393 worth of tools from his trailer inside the gated storage facility. There are no suspects at this time.

11:03 a.m.: In the SPD lobby, a subject reported a sex crime involving a child. A report was taken and an investigation was initiated.

11:36 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of West Third Street for a report of a vending machine broken into and candy stolen. There are two suspects.

1:05 p.m.: A subject reported that their adult child was making threatening statements. Referrals were made to the mental health liaison and the Children's Division.

8:41 p.m.: Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop on an SUV for unreadable temporary tags and failing to yield at a stop sign. The SUV failed to pull over but the pursuit was terminated due to dangerous conditions.

9:39 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 300 block of West 10th Street in reference to a male subject making threats to a female. It was determined the female was assaulted and wanted to pursue charges. Suspect information was gathered.

June 26

10:56 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to a business in the 3100 block of South Limit Avenue in reference to a theft of a vehicle. The complainant reported that a white Ford F250 had been taken overnight. The vehicle had been located in rural Johnson County by deputies earlier in the morning after being set on fire.

2:28 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the area of South Vermont Avenue and West Seventh Street regarding a domestic disturbance. The subjects had moved to the area of West Ninth Street and South Vermont Avenue. It was found that both parties had marks from a physical fight and no primary aggressor could be identified. A 12-hour log was completed to document the incident.

2:56 p.m.: A victim called the SPD and reported someone had stolen three items from their home with an aggregate value of $5.63. There is no suspect information.

8:45 p.m.: Officers responded to the 1300 block of East 15th Street for an assault at Housel Park. The victim wished to pursue charges and a report was made.

9:32 p.m.: An officer responded to the SPD lobby to speak with a subject about a sexual assault that occurred in mid-June. The victim named two suspects. Contact with the suspects has not been made at this time.

11:08 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to a business in the 200 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a forgery. The employee stated a subject came in and attempted to buy two cigarette packs with a fake $100 bill. The bill said “play money” in several places and the employee did not believe that there was an intent of a crime and did not want to pursue charges. The bill was seized.

June 27

1:37 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 2700 block of South Massachusetts Avenue in regard to a theft that occurred at the 1300 block of East Fourth Street. Someone had broken into the victim's truck and stole a brown, leather bag containing pictures and $100 cash. A possible suspect was provided.

11:27 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 1300 block of West 16th Street for an abandoned vehicle. The parked vehicle had the license plate of another vehicle on it. The plate was seized and the vehicle was towed.

June 28

3:24 p.m.: Officers responded to the 2000 block of East Seventh Street for a loud noise complaint. A check of the area and a video showed a subject intentionally setting off a firework to disturb the peace. The caller wished to pursue charges for peace disturbance and a report was made.

June 27

6:35 p.m.: Bryan Rodriguez, of the 400 block of South Myrtle Street in La Monte, was arrested for domestic assault and transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges.

Incidents

June 27

7 a.m.: Deputies took a report stating overnight someone damaged an AC unit in the 2900 block of Monsees Road. The investigation continues.

June 26

7:51 p.m.: Michael S. Hanson, 44, of Kingsville, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated and speeding. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.

June 27

4:40 p.m.: Gary D. Greubel, 57, of Versailles, was arrested in Morgan County for possession of a controlled substance (three liquid ounces or less of methamphetamine), possession of 10 grams or less of marijuana, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and no seat belt. He was transported to Morgan County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.
