This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

June 23

3:34 p.m.: Diana S. Smith, 48, of Jefferson City, was arrested after officers conducted a vehicle stop in the 2000 block of South Limit Avenue. The driver was arrested for driving with a suspended driver's license and a search of the vehicle located methamphetamine, marijuana, and a used hypodermic needle. The driver and passenger, George R. Jodon, 50, of Meta, were transported to the Pettis County Jail. Jodon provided a false identity, which was later discovered at the jail and showed him to have two active failure to appear warrants. Smith had one failure to appear warrant and was arrested for drug possession-meth, possession of drug paraphernalia and identity theft. 

11:35 p.m.: Brian Lee Wilson, 29, of the 1300 block of East Boonville Street, was arrested after a traffic complaint was called in about a vehicle failing to maintain a lane. During a traffic stop near West Broadway Boulevard and State Fair Boulevard, it was determined the driver was intoxicated and had a revoked driving status. A search warrant was obtained for a blood draw. The subject was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of driving while intoxicated-persistent offender, and driving with a suspended license.

June 27

8:23 p.m.: Christina Marie Forsee, 34, of the 200 block of North Engineer Avenue, was arrested after officers were dispatched to a domestic incident that occurred in the 200 block of North Engineer Avenue. The caller was located in the 1500 block of West Main Street. A primary physical aggressor was determined and Forsee was arrested, transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked, and placed on a 24-hour hold pending state charges of second-degree domestic assault. 

8:55 a.m.: Steven Lloyd Bunner, 48, of Lincoln, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to an accident near the intersection of West 10th Street and Thompson Boulevard. A computer check revealed the driver’s Missouri driving privileges had been suspended and he was transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was booked and released with a charge of driving with a revoked license. 

11:47 a.m.: Jourdan D. Diehl, 24, of the 400 block of East Broadway Boulevard, was arrested as a result of a child abuse investigation at the police department. He was placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges being submitted to the Pettis County prosecutor for first-degree child abuse. 

Incidents

June 27

9:08 a.m.: Officers responded to the intersection of South Engineer Avenue and East 22nd Street in reference to a hit-and-run accident. The caller noticed that the stop sign at the corner had been run over and a vehicle had left the scene. There was a license plate left behind at the scene of the accident.

9:17 a.m.: Officers took a report in reference to a fraudulent order placed on a caller’s debit card. The suspect ordered a bicycle from Walmart and had it shipped to his residence in Raytown. The caller was able to cancel the order and was issued a refund. 

12:13 p.m.: A victim came to the police department to report she had been scammed. She put a video game system on Marketplace and got an offer. The victim sent the game system but never received the money. The victim does want to prosecute but only has a name the suspect gave her. 

12:46 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to a business in the 800 block of South Limit Avenue for a report regarding the passing of a stolen check. Suspects were identified, but officers have not been able to make contact with the victim to confirm the check was stolen. 

3:30 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 1600 block of West 14th Street in reference to a follow-up investigation. A missing person was located at the residence. They were removed from the database as a missing person.

10:04 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 700 block of West 11th Street in reference to a counterfeit bill. The caller said he had delivered pizza to a residence and realized he’d been given a counterfeit bill. The officer made contact with the resident, asked about the bill and was told the person who paid for the pizza had left. The change was returned to the victim and the counterfeit bill was confiscated and placed into evidence.

June 27

11:36 a.m.: Lance M. Carter, 45, of Fulton, was arrested in Moniteau County for driving while intoxicated-drug intoxication-prior offender. He was transported to the Moniteau County Jail.
