This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Incidents

June 27

8:54 a.m.: Officers responded to the 600 block of South New York Avenue for a report of an animal attack. A female subject reported that a neighbor's dog killed one of her puppies. Animal Control responded to take the dog and the owner was contacted. 

2:39 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 900 block of East Fourth Street for a report of theft. The victim stated her juvenile son's bike was stolen sometime in the past week. The bike was a copper-colored BMX estimated to be worth $80.

4:47 p.m.: Officers responded to a residence in the 2200 block of West First Street in reference to identity theft. Officers made contact with the complainant who received letters stating her identity may have been compromised.

10:48 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the area of Liberty Park Boulevard and Dundee Avenue. The caller said he had cash and a bank card stolen while at the Heckart Community Center. The caller had located a suspect and was attempting to locate his bank card. The juvenile subject was returned to his parents' home. Referrals have been completed and forwarded to the juvenile office. 

June 28

10:44 a.m.: Officers responded to the 1900 block of South Stewart Avenue for a report of fraud. A male and female subject reported they had paid to move into a rental house and learned that it was a scam.

11:16 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to a property damage report in the 3100 block of Brianna Boulevard. The victim said overnight someone shot their truck with what appeared to be a paintball gun.

11:36 a.m.: Officers responded to a business in the 600 block of North Ohio Avenue for a theft report. A witness stated an individual entered the business and walked out with a case of beer.

4:51 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the lobby of the police department in reference to a stolen vehicle report. The complainant said the vehicle was stolen overnight, and it was entered into the system as stolen.

8:02 p.m.:  An officer was dispatched in reference to an assault that occurred previously the reporting party was no longer in town. The caller said she was assaulted while riding in a car to North Stewart Avenue. The officer was unable to make contact with the suspect and no arrests have been made at this time.

Arrests

June 26

4 p.m.: David G. Cross, 64, of Kansas City, was arrested after deputies conducted a vehicle stop in the area of U.S. Highway 50 and Chevalier Road. Cross had an active warrant for his arrest and attempted to provide false information as to his identity. Deputies also located fentanyl and methamphetamine. Cross was transported to the Pettis County Jail pending the filing of formal charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and identity theft.

Arrests

June 27

11:36 a.m.: Lance M. Carter, 45, of Fulton, was arrested in Moniteau County for driving while intoxicated/drugs – prior offender. He was transported to the Moniteau County Jail.

June 28

4:10 p.m.: Jaason M. Skillings, 48, of Gravois Mills, was arrested in Morgan County for third-degree felony assault. He was transported to the Morgan County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.
