This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

June 2

1:02 a.m.: Reginald Cole, 33, of Kansas City, Missouri, was arrested after officers conducted a vehicle stop at West Broadway Boulevard and North Industrial Avenue. All subjects in the vehicle were identified and run through dispatch, and the driver was confirmed to have a suspended driving status. He was arrested, transported to the Pettis County Jail, and issued a municipal citation. 

June 4

8:57 p.m.: Joseph J. Thibeault, 28, of Knob Noster, was arrested after officers stopped a vehicle in the 700 block of West 16th Street. The driver was identified and confirmed to have a suspended driving status. He was arrested, transported to the Pettis County Jail, and issued a municipal citation.

11:32 p.m.: Deanna K. Gilmore, 30, of Sedalia, was arrested for shoplifting after officers responded to Walmart in reference to a theft. Gilmore was identified, arrested, and transported to the Pettis County Jail. She was issued a municipal citation. 

June 5

11:57 p.m.: Richard T. Beaulieu–Piona, 37, of the 1300 block of East Seventh Street, was arrested after officers responded to the 700 block of West 16th Street for a report of theft. Prior to arrival officers were informed a male was rummaging inside vehicles. Officers located a male inside a business and placed him under arrest. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and issued a summons. 

June 6

1:39 a.m.: Mary E. Hale, 30, of the 400 block of North Grand Avenue, was arrested after officers responded for a report of a disturbance. When officers arrived, they located Hale at her house. She was arrested for active Pettis County warrants and an additional charge of third-degree domestic assault.

10:57 a.m.: Morgan R. Hawkins, 22, of the 1900 block of South Harrison Avenue, was arrested after officers responded to the area of South Center Avenue and east of 10th Street for a report of property damage. A female subject reported that another female subject had purposely hit her vehicle and fled from the scene. Hawkins was located, arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail for first-degree property damage.

Incidents

June 4

8:46 a.m.: An officer responded to the 700 block of South Beacon Avenue in reference to a hit-and-run accident. The victim stated her vehicle was struck during the overnight hours while parked in front of a residence. The vehicle had damage to the rear driver’s side. At the time of the report, a suspect has not been identified. 

8:52 a.m.: A female subject came to the Sedalia Police Department to report that she was assaulted in the 400 block of Wilkerson Street. A report was taken and charges were submitted to the Pettis County prosecutor.

10:49 p.m.: An officer responded to the intersection of Broadway Boulevard and Ingram Avenue in reference to a hit-and-run accident. The victim stated they were rear-ended at the intersection and the striking vehicle left without providing information. The victim's vehicle had minor damage to the rear end. At the time of the report, a suspect has not been identified. 

10:52 a.m.: An officer took a theft report in the police station lobby from a victim who stated that on Nov. 22, 2019, he paid a subject $2,555 to do some work on his flue. No work has been completed to date. The victim stated the contractor refused to give him his deposit back. 

3:40 p.m.: A theft report was taken in the SPD lobby that occurred in the 200 block of South Grand Avenue. The victim stated her purse was stolen out of her vehicle and named several items that were included in the purse.

3:47 p.m.: An officer responded to the 500 block of North Moniteau Avenue regarding an attempted assault. No charges are being submitted at this time.

6:41 p.m.: Patrick S. Powers, 33, of Marshall, was issued a summons for destruction of non-city property after officers were dispatched to the 300 block of West 10th Street for a report of property damage. 

8:07 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the intersection of South Engineer Avenue and East Broadway Boulevard for a damaged traffic light. One of the traffic signals was found on the ground, apparently struck by a vehicle. The Missouri Department of Transportation was contacted to fix the light. No arrests have been made.

10:35 p.m.: Officers responded to a business in the 1400 block of South Limit Avenue for an alarm call. Upon arrival, it was discovered someone forced entry through a door of the business and items from inside the business were stolen. Damage was caused to the door and a display case as a result of the burglary. The suspect fled prior to officers arriving, but has been identified.

June 5

5:34 a.m.: Kenneth R. Noel, 35, of Holts Summit, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to an accident near East Broadway Boulevard and South Wagner Avenue. The driver of the vehicle had left the roadway and struck a light pole. It was determined the driver was intoxicated and had an outstanding failure-to-appear warrant from Henry County. He was arrested and transported to the SPD and issued citations for driving while intoxicated, failure to register a motor vehicle, and no insurance. He was then transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was booked on his warrant. 

12:43 p.m.: An officer responded to a burglary and theft not in progress at a business in the 1400 block of North Main Street. The reporting party stated that their storage unit had been broken into. Items were stolen valuing $3,550.

June 6

10 a.m.: An officer responded to a business in the 1600 block of South Limit Avenue regarding property damage no longer in progress. Reporting party stated that their property had been damaged overnight.

10:54 a.m.: An officer spoke with a victim on the phone stating someone shot two of her indoor/outdoor cats with an air gun, causing minor injury to both. The two incidents happened over the course of the last month. At the time of the report, a suspect has not been identified. 

12:04 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 1500 block of South Kentucky Avenue for a report of property damage. The victim stated that sometime between midnight and 11 a.m. someone knocked off the driver's side mirror of her vehicle.

12:44 p.m.: A victim came to the SPD lobby in reference to a hit-and-run accident. The victim reported that earlier in the day he was eastbound on Broadway Boulevard near Osage Avenue when another vehicle collided with his passenger side. The victim stated that after the impact the striking vehicle left the scene. A suspect has not been identified. 

3:58 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the SPD lobby in reference to a property damage report. The victim said his vehicle was damaged between 3 and 7 a.m. May 31 while parked near West Main Street and North Moniteau Avenue. 

4:50 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the SPD lobby in reference to a theft report. The victim said that between the hours of 8 and 10 p.m. his wallet went missing. The estimated value was $415.

Arrests

June 6

12:24 a.m.: An unnamed driver was arrested after a traffic stop on a red 1997 Dodge van with dealer plates for expired registration. The driver stated he was given the dealer plate by a friend two days ago and stated he purchased the van and had not licensed the van through the State of Missouri. A computer check advised the driver had a suspended driving status. He was arrested, transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.

Incidents

June 3

11:22 p.m.: A deputy was dispatched to the 18000 block of Prairie Chapel Road on a burglary report. The reporting person stated that between May 23 and June 3 someone entered his residence and took a bag of copper fittings. The fittings were valued at approximately $300.

11:23 p.m.: Deputies were dispatched to the 16000 block of Highway 52 for a residential burglary alarm. Dispatch also received a call from the homeowner stating someone had entered the home through the front door. He stated he heard a loud noise and then the alarm. He came out of the bedroom and saw a larger male standing inside the front door entrance to the house. He was described as 6’4” with a larger build and a black hoodie with the hood pulled over his head and a white mask covering his face. A deputy and K-9 were called to the scene and tracked the subject into an open field to the east of the address and then lost the track. The suspect was not located. Front door damage was estimated at $100.

Arrests

June 4

3:32 p.m.: David L. McReynolds, 62, of Stover, was arrested in Morgan County for driving while intoxicated. He was transported to the Morgan County Jail.

9:21 p.m.: Frederick M. Smith, 53, of Marshall, was arrested in Saline County for a felony parole violation warrant, no valid driver's license, and speeding. He was transported to the Saline County Jail and held with no bond.

June 5

1:05 a.m.: Dylan J. Edens, 31, of Sedalia, was arrested in Pettis County for driving while intoxicated-prior offender and speeding. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and released. 

7:42 p.m.: David L. McReynolds, 62, of Stover, was arrested in Morgan County for driving while intoxicated. He was transported to the Morgan County Jail and placed on a 12-hour hold. 

11:34 p.m.: Kevin M. Woods, 44, of Blue Springs, was arrested in Morgan County for failure to display navigational lights and boating while intoxicated. He was released with a summons.

June 6

3:30 p.m.: William T. Pritchett, 42, of Eldon, was arrested in Morgan County for possession of 10 grams or less of marijuana, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and no seat belt. He was released. 

5:17 p.m.: Jason R. Kistner, 46, of Sunrise Beach, was arrested in Morgan County for felony  driving while intoxicated-persistent offender, driving with a suspended license, and failure to maintain the right-half of the roadway resulting in an accident. He was transported to the Morgan County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.

9:22 p.m.: Dakota J. Creer, 25, of Temple Terrace, Florida, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated and speeding. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released. 

June 7

3:39 a.m.: Sydney M. Ward, 30, of Fulton, was arrested in Pettis County for felony resisting arrest-creating a substantial risk to any person, second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, a felony Camden County probation violation warrant, a felony Moniteau County probation violation warrant, a felony Calloway County warrant, a felony Boone County warrant, a misdemeanor Johnson County warrant, and two misdemeanor Lee's Summit warrants. Ward was transported to the Pettis County jail and held with no bond.
