This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

March 11

8:26 a.m.: Robert Paddon Bower, 36, of the 300 block of East Second Street, was arrested after a motor vehicle stop at West Second Street and South Kentucky Avenue for a hazardous moving violation - unsecured load. During the course of the stop, a consent search was performed of the vehicle, which resulted in the discovery of an illegal drug. The passenger was arrested without incident and transported to Pettis County Jail for misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Bower was transported to the Pettis County Jail.

12:52 p.m.: Jenishkumar K. Patel, 37, of Lake Lotawana, was arrested after emergency crews responded to West Broadway Boulevard and Winchester Drive for an unknown emergency. Concerned citizens reported a motorist driving erratically and the vehicle was stopped with the operator slumped over. When officers arrived the driver was found to be impaired and was subsequently arrested for driving while intoxicated.

9:36 p.m.: Angelica Alejo, 21, of the 900 block of West Seventh Street, was arrested after officers made a traffic stop on a vehicle near 10th Street and Prospect Avenue. Alejo failed to maintain the right half of the roadway and a driving while intoxicated investigation led officers to believe she was impaired. Alejo’s blood-alcohol content was determined to be .218% and she was charged with driving while intoxicated and operating a vehicle without an operator's license. 

Incidents

Feb. 25

4:16 p.m.: In a report taken at the SPD lobby, a victim reported that his truck was damaged during a rolling disturbance on South Limit Avenue at 32nd Street. The suspect is known and state charges of property damage are being requested.

March 9

Officers were called to the area of 16th Street and Thompson Boulevard on a careless and imprudent driver. The driver pulled in front of a Sedalia fire truck while on U.S. 50 near Thompson Boulevard nearly causing an accident. The vehicle then pulled into McDonald's parking lot at a high rate of speed, stopped, backed up rapidly and then pulled onto Thompson Boulevard. The vehicle continued south on Thompson Boulevard weaving in and out of traffic until the vehicle got behind a semi. Sedalia Fire got a license plate and SPD is requesting charges for careless and imprudent driving.

March 11

9:53 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 1300 block of Montgomery Circle in reference to a theft. The caller reported that March 9 a fraudulent debit card transaction for $74.36 hit her bank account. The transaction occurred from PayPal/eBay. The transaction originated from Massachusetts. Some suspect information was provided by PayPal/eBay. 

March 12

2:08 a.m.: Officers responded to the 600 block of North Quincy Avenue in reference to a disturbance with weapons. Officers arrived on the scene and made contact with the caller who stated her daughter's boyfriend was inside threatening her with a knife. Charges for third-degree domestic assault will be requested from the prosecutor.

March 10

6:00 p.m.: Richard Keim assaulted a correctional officer at the Pettis County Jail. Keim is awaiting further charges of third-degree assault of a special victim.
