This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

March 10

12:18 a.m.: Destiny N. Archambault, 22, of the 3600 block of Petree Street, was arrested after officers observed a vehicle drifting from lane to lane and conducted a traffic stop on West Broadway Boulevard and South Sneed Avenue. The driver smelled of marijuana and during the course of the investigation, it was discovered she had a suspended driver's license and was intoxicated. Archambault was arrested and transported to the SPD where she provided a breath sample that showed her blood-alcohol content was .08. She was transported to Pettis County Jail, booked, and released to a sober driver. A request for a charge of driving while intoxicated-prior offense and driving while suspended has been submitted to the prosecutor.

March 11

4:40 p.m.: Melissa L. Dorsey, 32, of the 1300 block of East Broadway Boulevard, was arrested after a traffic stop near East Third Street and South Lafayette Avenue due to having an expired plate that did not match the vehicle. In the course of the stop, it was discovered Dorsey had a revoked license. She was arrested, transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked for driving with a revoked license, and released.

March 12

7:16 p.m.: Rebecca M. Vaughn, 42, of the 1200 block of South Sneed Avenue, was arrested after officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1100 block of South Sneed Avenue. Vaughn was arrested for driving while intoxicated/prior offender, driving with a suspended license, and resisting arrest. She was transported to the Pettis County jail for a 24-hour hold pending formal charges from the prosecuting attorney's office.

10:28 p.m.: Kyona B. Collins, 26, of Warrensburg, was arrested after officers conducted a subject check near the 1400 block of South Limit Avenue. The suspect was found in possession of methamphetamine, cocaine and two glass pipes. Collins was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of opium/cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

11:19 p.m.: Bonnie Jo Ballance, 62, of the 2400 block of Main Street, was arrested after an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle speeding on West Main Street. An odor of intoxicants was detected on the driver's breath. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Ballance was arrested and transported to the SPD where she provided a breath sample that showed her blood alcohol content above .08. She was issued a citation for driving while intoxicated and given a court date. Ballance was released to a sober driver.

March 13

1:54 p.m.: Heather Marie Reed, 39, of the 500 block of South Kentucky Avenue, was arrested after officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of North Grand Avenue in reference to a possible burglary. Suspects had gained access to the house that was previously boarded up by code enforcement. While clearing the building, suspects were found inside the house. Methamphetamine, a homemade meth pipe and marijuana were also found in the house. Reed claimed ownership of the contraband, was arrested and placed on a 24-hour hold at the Pettis County Jail pending state charges.

March 14 

10:13 a.m.: Alyssa Marie Molina, 33, of the 900 Block of South Prospect Avenue, was arrested after an officer responded to the area of West 32nd Street and South Limit Avenue regarding a wrong-way driver approaching Sedalia city limits from the county. The driver was found to be intoxicated, was arrested, and released from the police department with a court date. 

4:04 p.m.: Justin David Woolery, 34, of Sedalia, was arrested after officers were dispatched to the area of East 14th Street and South Ingram Avenue in reference to a subject check. Several people called about Woolery laying in the street and having items strung all over the area. He was found in possession of drug paraphernalia and was placed under arrest. Woolery was transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was placed on a 24-hour hold pending state charges of misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Incidents

March 8

9:43 p.m.: A report was taken in the police department lobby in reference to harassment. The complainant stated she had been receiving threatening messages via Facebook Messenger from the female suspect. The female suspect has been identified, contacted and denies sending the messages. Charges of harassment are being requested on the female suspect.

3:01 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the police station lobby for a harassment report. The officer made contact with the victim who stated that a known suspect had been sending her threatening text messages.

March 12

10:37 a.m.: An officer spoke with a complainant in the SPD lobby in reference to property damage. The complainant, a manager at a business in the 3100 block of West Broadway Boulevard, stated that a patron got upset about his order. When the staff wasn't looking the suspect used his key to scratch profanity into the front counter. The suspect then left the business. Security video was obtained of the incident but the suspect hasn't been identified at the time of the report.

11:45 p.m.:  An officer responded to a business in the 3900 block of West Ninth Street in reference to property damage. Management advised that a male subject set off a room smoke detector with a cigarette then broke the detector while trying to shut it off. Contact was made with the male and he was issued a municipal summons for property damage.

3:07 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 600 block of East 17th Street for a call of a runaway juvenile. The complainant stated his daughter ran away from home the previous night and he doesn't know where she currently is. The juvenile's information was given to dispatch and she was listed as a missing person in MULES and NCIC.

March 13

2:01 p.m.: An officer responded to a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard regarding a theft in progress. The suspect left before the officer arrived. A report was completed to document the incident. The total value of stolen items is $29.29.

3:57 p.m.: Officers responded to the 600 block of State Fair Boulevard in reference to property damage. The complainant stated a juvenile threw a rock through his driver’s side window. The juvenile has not been identified or contacted at this time.

March 14

7:25 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard for an accident report involving leaving the scene. The suspect vehicle backed into the victim's vehicle three times before leaving the scene.

3:50 p.m.:  An officer responded to a business in the 4400 block of Wisconsin Avenue in reference to a hit-and-run. The victim stated her vehicle was struck while parked in the parking lot and the striking vehicle left without providing information. At the time of the report, contact has not been made with the suspect.

March 13

11:47 p.m.: Randall C. Becherer, 59, of Rocky Mount, was arrested in Morgan County for driving while intoxicated (first offense) and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway. 

3:49 p.m.: Deontae J. Bomar, 25, of Independence, was arrested in Saline County for unlawful use of a weapon.

March 14

4:46 a.m.: Logan R. Isaac, 25, of Boonville, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated. 

7:27 p.m.: Julie M. Kirk, 50, of Higginsville, was arrested in Benton County for driving while intoxicated.
