This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

March 26

7:20 p.m.: Brandon D. Rollett, 36, of Windsor, was arrested near the intersection of West Sixth Street and South Missouri Avenue for delivery/manufacture of a controlled substance, resisting/interfering with arrest, receiving stolen property and five failure to appear warrants. Jessica Jean Henderson, 29, was arrested for resisting arrest, two warrants and one failure to appear warrant. Officers conducted a subject check after recognizing a male subject that had an active warrant. The subject fled into a residence and shortly fled the rear of the residence where he was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit. During a search, he was found in possession of methamphetamine. The residence was further searched and another wanted subject was found hiding in the attic. She was also arrested.

March 27

12:49 a.m.: Rickie W. Waggoner, 45, was issued a municipal court summons in the 200 block of West Broadway Boulevard for open alcohol container. Officers responded to a business for a subject check. Contact was made with the subject who was found to be highly intoxicated. The subject was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail for a 12-hour protective hold and issued a summons.

5:30 a.m.: Willie Ray Waddell, 53, of Otterville, was arrested in the 200 block of South Massachusetts Avenue for fourth-degree assault, resisting/interfering with arrest and second-degree property damage. Officers responded to a disturbance report. When officers arrived, a male matching the suspect’s description was fleeing. He was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail.

1:53 p.m.: Donald E. Cunningham, 31, of Smithton, was arrested near the intersection of West Broadway Boulevard and South Warren Avenue for driving while intoxicated (persistent offender). An officer observed a vehicle with no front plate and a rear plate belonging to another vehicle. A traffic stop was conducted and the officer detected the odor of intoxicants on the driver. During the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. He was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail where he provided a breath sample that showed his BAC above 0.08.

7:44 p.m.: Rickie W. Waggoner, 45, was issued a municipal court summons in the 500 block of South Ohio Avenue for open alcohol container. An officer responded to a business for a report of a male refusing to leave. When officers arrived, they found a male with a bottle of vodka sitting on a bench down the road from the business. He was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail.

9:03 p.m.: Arturo Garcia, 22, of the 24000 block of state Route 765, was arrested near the intersection of West Broadway Boulevard and South Limit Avenue for driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident and resisting/interfering with arrest. An officer responded to a hit-and-run accident where the victim was following the suspect. The officer conducted a traffic stop. During the investigation, it was determined the driver who fled was intoxicated. He was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail where he provided a breath sample that showed his BAC above 0.08.

March 28

1:46 a.m.: Isai Ramirez Tello, 41, of the 1800 block of South Beacon Avenue, was arrested in the 3000 block of South Limit Avenue for driving while intoxicated (prior offender). An officer observed a vehicle traveling 55 mph in a 40 mph zone. The officer then saw the driver cross into the other southbound lane and back into the original lane. A traffic stop was conducted and the officer detected a strong odor of intoxicants coming from the driver. During the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. He was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail where he refused to give a breath sample. A search warrant was obtained and he was taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center for a blood draw.

11:24 a.m.: Elmer Jewel Miley Jr., 37, of the 600 block of East 10th Street, was arrested near the intersection of West Ninth Street and South Harrison Avenue for driving with a suspended license. A traffic stop had been conducted.

1:08 p.m.: Skyler Cheyanne Zane, 23, of the 1700 block of South Summit Avenue, was arrested in the 600 block of North Ohio Avenue for distributing/delivering/manufacturing synthetic narcotics, possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, and stealing. Tanner Joel Leary, 21, of the 2400 block of Stacey Lane, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, and tampering with physical evidence. An officer responded to a theft in progress. A subject was stopped at the scene and during the investigation, the subject and another subject with them were found in possession of controlled substances. 

Incidents

March 27

8:41 p.m.: A complainant stated a clutch purse was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 800 block of East Third Street.

March 28

12:34 p.m.: An officer responded to the 1800 block of South Barrett Avenue for a property damage report. The victim stated that overnight someone damaged two of his vehicles and estimated the damage at $3,000. He said he believes he knows who damaged the vehicles.

11:14 p.m.: An officer observed a vehicle with a registration plate belonging to another vehicle. The officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop at East 14th Street and South Ingram Avenue but the vehicle failed to pull over. The officer activated his sirens and the vehicle continued. The pursuit was terminated for public safety. The suspect was later identified and a request for charges of resisting arrest and driving with a suspended license have been submitted to the prosecutor.

March 29

1:30 a.m.: Officers responded to the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office for a report of an assault that occurred March 27. The victim said she was assaulted by a male known to her and suffered minor injuries. The suspect has been identified but not contacted.

March 27

9:34 p.m.: Rainy D. Lyon, 29, of Lebanon, was arrested in Henry County for felony no valid license, displayed plates of another, no seat belt and no insurance.

10:09 p.m.: Kierra S. McGee, 30, of Grandview, was arrested in Johnson County for felony unlawful use of a weapon, felony possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, felony possession of a controlled substance (MDMA), misdemeanor possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license, and speeding.

10:10 p.m.: Eric K. Wilson, 26, of Kansas City, was arrested in Johnson County for felony unlawful use of a weapon, felony possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, felony possession of a controlled substance (MDMA), felony leaving the scene of a vehicle crash, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

10:12 p.m.: Heather I. Howard, 41, of Versailles, was arrested in Benton County for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and felony warrants from Camden, Morgan and Miller counties.

10:12 p.m.: Kenyon P. Dubois, 39, of Gravois Mills, was arrested in Benton County for felony possession of a controlled substance, driving with a suspended license, expired registration and possession of drug paraphernalia.

March 28

1:16 a.m.: Herrera P. Pascual, 30, of Sedalia, was arrested in Pettis County for driving while intoxicated-person younger than 17 in vehicle, no driver’s license and failure to stop for a red light.

9:29 a.m.: William L. Houston, 69, of Jefferson City, was arrested in Pettis County for driving while intoxicated and speeding.

11:35 a.m.: Nicholas A. Turner, 33, of Sedalia, was arrested in Moniteau County for felony possession of a controlled substance-greater than 35 grams of marijuana and speeding.

12:01 p.m.: Kyle R. Lalanda, 32, of Warsaw, was arrested in Morgan County for speeding, possession of 10 grams or less of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
