This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

March 27

9:31 a.m.: Travis W. Richey, 40, of Sedalia, was arrested after officers responded to the 400 block of East Second Street in reference to a possible trespassing. The owner of the residence had located two subjects sleeping inside who were not supposed to be at the residence. Officers were able to locate the subjects and they were initially detained. It was later determined one of the subjects had been led to believe they were allowed to be at the residence. That subject was released; Richey was arrested for trespassing and was discovered to be in possession of methamphetamine, Suboxone, and drug paraphernalia. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of drug possession, synthetic narcotic possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, and first-degree trespassing.

March 28

7:56 p.m.: Lyoniel Jack Meyers Jr., 68, of the 1300 block of Walker Circle, was arrested after an officer on patrol observed Meyers driving with a revoked operator’s license. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked, and released for driving with a suspended license.

Incidents

March 27

2 p.m.: Officers responded to the 400 block of West Seventh Street in reference to an abandoned vehicle. The vehicle had been reported as stolen. It was recovered and the reporting agency was notified.

March 28

5:59 p.m.: Officers to a theft report in the 1000 block of South Grand Avenue. The caller reported that someone stole the bumper off his vehicle with the license plate attached. There is no suspect information at the time of the report.

Arrests

March 28

7:46 p.m.: Joseph G. Hagston was arrested after deputies and a K9 unit were patrolling the city limits of Green Ridge and conducted a traffic stop at Highway B and Meyer Road. Hagston was in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia and was released from the scene pending charges of drug possession - marijuana/synthetic cannabinoid.

8:58 p.m.: Jose M. Lopez-Corona was arrested after the Pettis County K9 unit conducted a traffic stop in the area of Garrison Street and La Monte Road in La Monte for driving while intoxicated.

March 29

11:09 p.m.: James Baker was arrested after deputies conducted a traffic stop near South Ohio Avenue and West 19th Street. A passenger, Baker, fled on foot and was arrested without incident. He had two active warrants out of Pettis County and was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked on a 24-hour hold pending a felony resisting arrest charge.

Arrests

March 29

1:16 a.m.: Thomas M. Sibley, 47, of Warrensburg, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated and no valid registration. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.
