This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Mar. 2

9:15 p.m.: Lachelle R. Flores, 38, of the 1300 block of East Boonville Road, was arrested after officers initiated a traffic stop near North Emmet Avenue and East Boonville Road on a vehicle that had no rear license plate. The driver came back with a license that had been revoked and Flores was arrested for driving while revoked and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Flores was booked on a 24-hour hold pending charges.

Mar. 3

12:52 a.m.: Angela L. Bradley, 36, of the 500 block of North Moniteau Avenue in Sedalia, was arrested after officers responded to her home for a disturbance. After the investigation, it was determined that one of the subjects stole a ring from her mother while her mother was in the hospital. Bradley was placed under arrest on a state felony stealing charge and transported to the Pettis County Jail where she was placed on a 24-hour hold.

Incidents

Feb. 26

8:52 p.m.: An officer initiated a traffic stop on the 1900 block of West Main Street for a car failing to drive on the right half of the roadway. The occupant provided a false name before running from the car. The occupant was identified, and charges are being requested for state felony resisting and identity theft.

March 1

9:56 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 1900 block of South Lamine Avenue regarding a theft that occurred within the last month. The victim reported that someone had stolen $1,500 cash from their home. The victim stated they want to pursue charges.

2:47 p.m.: An officer took a report in the Police Department lobby for fraudulent use of a debit card. The victim stated that on Feb. 28, $13 was charged to her account without authorization. At the time of the report, a suspect has not been located.   

March 2

8:26 a.m.: The police department received an identity theft report from the Costa Mesa, California Police Department. The original report indicated the victim is from the state of California. The victim indicated someone attempted to open an account at the US Bank in Sedalia using her information. The Sedalia Police Department continued investigating the case. A suspect has not been identified at the time of this report.

1:37 p.m.: Officers responded to a business in the 400 block of West Main Street for a report of a stolen vehicle. A male subject had rented a vehicle and has since failed to return it.  

3:28 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 500 block of East Fifth Street regarding a theft. Someone had obtained the victim's credit card information and made at least eight charges totaling $237.18. There are likely additional charges, and these are the only ones the victim has discovered so far. The victim was able to provide the name of the suspect and stated they wanted to press charges.

Incidents

March 2

6:55 p.m.: A deputy responded to the 24500 block of Norton Road in Sedalia on a theft report that happened between 8 p.m. Feb. 27 and 7 a.m. March 1. The reporting party stated someone took items out of his mailbox.

7:39 p.m.: The Sheriff's Office took a call reporting theft of items from a mailbox in the 17000 block of Main Street in Sedalia. The theft occurred between Feb. 27 and March 1.

9:00 p.m.: Alberto Cano, 24, of Sedalia, was arrested in Pettis County for felony delivery of a controlled substance and driving while intoxicated.
