This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Feb. 28

4:34 a.m.: Kenkori Lanell Grant Sr., 38, of Kansas City, was arrested after officers observed a Nissan crossing into different lanes near West Broadway Boulevard and South Limit Avenue. Police stopped the driver, and it was determined he was intoxicated and that his license was revoked. Grant was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center where a blood draw was conducted. He was then transported to the Pettis County Jail and released to a sober driver. A request for charges of driving while intoxicated and driving while revoked has been submitted to the prosecutor.

March 3

10:01 p.m.: David B. Borgstadt Jr., 33, of the 100 block of South Stewart Avenue, was arrested after officers were dispatched to the area of West Fifth Street and South State Fair Boulevard for an accident. The suspect vehicle was located, and the driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

March 4

8:50 a.m.: An officer responded to the 700 block of Wilkerson Street in reference to a theft that occurred at the victim’s residence. The victim stated that during overnight hours two firearms were stolen from the house. There is a subject, but they have not been contacted at this time.

12:44 p.m.: Officers responded to a business in the 300 block of Iron Avenue in reference to a stolen vehicle. Management stated someone had attempted to scrap a vehicle that was stolen from Columbia. The vehicle had been reported stolen and was recovered.

7:40 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of West 11th Street for a hit and run accident. The victim stated her vehicle was parked in the driveway when a vehicle struck it and fled the scene. The suspect vehicle has not been located.

9:33 p.m.: Officers responded to a business in the 700 block of East Broadway Boulevard in reference to a theft. The complainant stated that a male juvenile stole items from the store. The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived and has not been identified.

March 5

10:01 p.m.: An officer conducted a vehicle check in the 1500 block of East 16th Street for a vehicle parked in a city park after hours. Investigation revealed that there was drug paraphernalia, as well as a possible controlled substance in the vehicle. The substance will be submitted to the Missouri State Highway Patrol's crime laboratory with charges pending those results.

Incidents

March 4

7:00 a.m.: Deputies recovered a stolen vehicle out of Springfield that was left in a parking lot in the 3600 block of West Broadway Boulevard. The vehicle was returned to the business that owned it.

3:00 p.m.: Deputies took a report of harassment from the 2000 block of Logan Lane. The investigation is continuing.

March 4

1:41 p.m.: Chauntal A. Ellis, 34, of Columbia, was arrested in Saline County for driving while revoked/suspended (third or subsequent offense).
